How does the leader of a race, get a warning for jumping the start? Pretty dumb. Heard alot of fans complaining about that call.

It is the rule to start at the line in the wall in turn four. If you pick up the throttle before, you jump. As long as it is consistently enforced, it will prevent drivers from starting early. Or do you feel he shouldn't have been warned and just sent back two positions for "jumping"

I guess. I mean if the leader takes off on the back stretch or something I could understand that. How many times to guys 3 or 4 rows back jump up high or low and make a pass and nothing happens to them. If your the leader and take off in turn 4 then you shouldnt get in trouble. Just my opinion. I know alot of fans agree, cause they were all saying stuff up in the stands.

I'm not sure how the other tracks do it, but I don't recall seeing the leader penalized, or warned elsewhere.
If I am the leader, am I able to idle all the way to the flagstand if I want? Seems to me it's leaders choice, since you cannot pass until the flag stand.

IMO being on the pole of a race should have a little benefit and you should be able to pick up the throttle and start the race where ever you want from the start of turn 4 to the flag stand. Otherwise where is the benefit in starting on the pole if the guy 3 rows back is passing you going into turn 1 because he jumped and they didnt watch him?

Read Limaland rules. The race starts when the Green flag waves, when the front row reaches the Orange stripe.
( not when the leader takes off ) The cars behind the leader start the race at the same time so they can pass before the orange stripe.
On restarts the leader can start anywhere from the orange stripe to the flagstand. (because you have to stay single file until you pass the flagstand.
Other tracks use similar rules. At Laweranceburg they stress the race starts when the flag drops and if the leader starts before that they are sent back (no warning)

If there is not a designated place for the leader to start the race, eventually you will see the leader starting the race at the flagstand 1 lap earlier when the flagman gives 1 to go! It is a fair and simple rule as long as the starting place is clearly marked.
