As of right now SDR is on a 2 week suspension stemming from the altercation with Limalands Security Barney Fife and his side kick. The altercation started with Dancers' parents coming from the grandstands to the pits to check on their son after his nasty wreck Friday night. After explaining to the pit gate what they were doing he gave them the nod to go ahead and after checking on Shawn to return to the grandstands. Barney and his side kick dissapproved and chased them down to Shawn's hauler and proceeded to kick them out of the pits because they weren't allowed in the pits during the races. After yelling at Shawn's parents and telling them they didn't give a *** **mn who they were they needed to leave the pits and threatened arrest. Shawns parents had no problem leaving and going back to the grandstands after checking on their son. Shawn did end up throwing a seat cushion at the security golf cart during the altercation as security displayed the most unprofessional display of so called authority I've ever seen in my life. Number 1 you don't get in a drivers face and scream and yell after he just crashed as emotions are already running high. Number 2, instead of threatening to arrest people in the pits, you offer them a ride down to check on him and then give them a ride back to the grandstands. The only assault that took place was Barney Fife shoving Shawn and poking his finger in his chest informing him he had been a sheriff for 31 years. This has to be the biggest crock of bull**** that I've ever seen come out of Limaland, and I've seen some good ones. They deserved more than a seat cushion thrown at them for how they treated Shawn and his parents, and an apology should be issued in person from Bob Fricke for the way his staff acted in a very unprofessional way. The only suspension issued should be for Barney. And yes, I witnessed the whole thing in person from 10 ft. away in the flesh from start to finish, so everything stated is true.

Wow you continue to hear more and more BS at Limaland track. Seems to me Fricke and his crew need to get off their high horses and come back down to reality instead of acting like they are some type of KING SH** at that track. They are really hurting the place and that is to bad!

You should see the way they act at the college its worse than the way they act at the track.
If this is the truth then this is horse **** limaland already has a bad reputation and this just adds onto it. If I ever wreck that hard the first 4 people i would want to see me would be my wife, my son and then my mom and dad. Its horrible that a rent a cop thinks he is robocop

I truly wish all drivers, no matter what division would unite and stand up to the BS and boycott lima during Shawn's 2 week suspension. Maybe that would give time for Fricke and his monkeys time to find and remove their heads from each others a**e*. I doubt the boycott would ever happen but have heard from numerous drivers who witnessed the event say that Shawn did nothing wrong in standing up for his parents. Spread the word and maybe Frickeland will get their eyes opened wide enough to see that Bob Fricke shouldn't be in charge of guarding an outhouse let alone Limaland Motorsports Park.

mod38 as i agree with most of what you are saying there are a couple things you are not thinking of. Do i agree with you that the security man was out of line with his actions, yes, but the thing i think most people aren't thinking of is that shawns parents did not sign a release form to go in the pits, if something would have happened to one of them in the pits that could have been a lawsuit waiting to happen. As a parent i understand the parents concern, but when shawn got out of the car on his own and went to the pits a simple call on the cell phone could have kept a lot of ugly things from happening. There are rules for all of us,do i agree with all of them, no but if you let one go back in the pits this time then you just about have to do the same the next time. The bottom line is if they would have made a phone call instead of going back none of this would have ever happened. And yes i would have stuck up for my parents the same way.

I agree things should of been handled better.. What a lot of people don't know those waivers are just a scare tactic to keep people from a lawsuit but do not hold up in court. As most of have done before we have signed someone else in so right there it is not legal and no piece a paper nor a warning on a sign keeps a lawsuit from happening.. As we have seen from all the crazy lawsuits that happen in this world.. Limaland has taken people back to see their husband or child before so this isn't new. Also if you watch there are people that come out of the grandstands without pit pass to take pics with there car or family in the winners circle which the track is part of the pit area.. What my parents did they regret but they are caring parents and you cant fault them for that. When the security guards handled it the way the did it just set everyone in the wrong mood. Then it just got worse from there. What set me off was their mouths toward my parents. There is no need to talk to my parents the way they did.. Their my family and i stuck up for them just like any one would.
I want to thank all the fans who wrote me and that show up every weekend to cheer the SDR team on..
Thanks for every ones post.

Except for the Keysor Memorial The whole clan will be down to take pictures tonight. #15Posted 23 June 2012 - 10:49 AM
Just for the record I think people should be allowed to go down on the front stretch to get their pictures taken with their family and friends. What is the danger, am I going to trip and fall? We used to be able to get family photos multiple times a year at the best location you could ask for, behind a race car. Now we have to go to a "professional photographer" indoors.
