As weird as it seems to not have Gerry on the mic and as much as I liked his announcing, it doesn't seem he has any intention of coming back. Tyler Burnett is a friend of mine and does a really good job at what he does and I support him being the announcer from here on out.

Not I for one after his lip bashing he gave my whole intire team after a night of racing last year, It all started when Dan Kelly asked us if we would be back the following week, And I said no. Dan asked Y and I said I was not paying extra money to watch the sprints. Jerry went off like a prom dress!!!! Started calling names, pointing fingers in my face saying he was going to kick my a$$, because he worked SOO HARD getting extra people in the stands to watch the race for following week. Started to walk away 3 time to return back to my face spitting and screaming like a little school girl. (NOTE) not one person in our pits even raised there voice to him. On the fourth time walking away he tripped over a trash can got up and threw it across the pits. About 45 min latter he returned back to the area we we're parked at and said he needed to say he was sorry and he did not know why he blew up at us in the first place!!!!! That it was are choice to not return back the following week to race!!!!!! We aint the only team he ever blew up on. WRP made the right choice by letting him go. Time to move on with new people and new ideas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Tim Conover

As far as i can say gerry did one hell of a great job in the press box but its his verbal lashings out side the box that brought him down with a termination. It was a call by management that i dont think will be reversed. There have been several like stocker has said that have been on the other side of his comments. Like i said he did one hell of a job in the box and thats where he should of left his actions, his temper towards some is what got him in trouble.

i was in the pits that night, a couple of trailers down talking to a few freinds. When Mr. Jerry went of on his RAMPAGE in the Conovers pits. Tim was right not 1 person in his pits rased ther voice to Jerry but he went after Tim time and time again kind of looking for a fight! I would have knocked him out after the first time he got in his face. He made WRP look like a champ that night in the pits he's a loose camon that blows at any time for any reason. I second the NO on his return! And yes we never laugh soo hard when he fell over that trash can and yelled (God Jam It) but not in them words. LMAO Jerry U had a great job and let your temper get the best of you, Good luck in everything you do but public relations.

Your story, tell it how you want. Let me make one thing clear, I kicked the trash can with all the anger that I restrained from taking out on you. No one tripped on anything. Awful funny that you acted so nice to me when you saw me in your own home town just a couple months ago, but now run your mouth about me here from behind your keyboard. Its all good. Have your opinion of me the way you want. Tyler Burnett is the new voice of WRP, and I for one couldn't be happier. In fact, I have went out of my way on several occasions in the weeks since my departure to assist Tyler any way that I can. You better enjoy him while you can, as I'm he will be off to the bigger and better things he deserves sooner, rather than later.

geez..... I'm sure there is a lot that has went on behind the scenes between Greg, Danny, and Gerry, that none of the rest of us have been in on. So let it rest........ However, I totally agree with the need for additional speakers!

Never is racestud the place to handle stuff like this. But it seems that the internet opinions from many "fans" who don't even go gets more consideration than driver input. I have no idea what all went down over Gerry's departure. I do know that I consider Gerry a friend, and has done a LOT for WRP over the years and I much appreciate him on a professional level as much as a personal level. Hey Conover, why do the good feuds always happen down by your trailer? (inside joke). Race tracks are a business, and not a democracy run by anonymous internet postings....at least they should NOT be. I really wish Gerry would come back, he's a big part of what made WRP what it was for us...not that my opinion matters anyway. That said, I think Tyler is doing an excellent job, and he keeps sounding better week after week. Hey should we have a "massive heart attack" fantasy league for this week? It's gonna be triple digits! Post your picks now! I'd pick myself, but unfortunately I've had a lot more things come up than I can handle and still be able to race right now. This will be the first race at WRP I've missed in two years, and I am really bummed about it. Stay hydrated, and STAY SAFE!!!!!!! PS, my worthless vote on that issue as well is to CANCEL. It's not worth risking the health and safety of your competitors, employees, and fans.

No sweat. There's always a handful of people who love to kick folks while they're "down". What they don't realize is that I'm very happy with what I'm doing, and for the plans I have for my future.

Gerry, you waved at Brad!!!!!!!! I know we look a lot alike but we're twins. Plus I never said I hated you I just don't think you should get the mic back. Plus Tim I think that was not my pits! Close but I belive it was something with Jeff K and some driver from the 48 team, LOL Was hoping to see you guys at the field Saturday going to be there for the first time this year. Good luck to all and watch this heat. Tim

Yeah, I was the one yelling like an idiot that night. Turns out "shit happens" in racing. Who knew? I'd love to race this weekend, but car is still in trailer from last weeks dnf, my tow vehicle is incapacitated, and I'm extremely busy with work. Good luck to you guys.

Yes Tim we will have Jordan down there for the first time this year, just looking for another good night of racing and getting him more laps under his belt. He's got a good car with a great power plant thanks to Scott Gressman! This year is just to finish races and gain the respect of other drivers. He'll do just fine I belive. And yes that was you yelling by my pits that night, LOL
