I listened in at the drivers meeting, and they said no alcohol in the pits until after the races were over. Well I saw a few people that had beer in coolies in the pit grandstand. I think that the pits should be closed off to alcohol with exception of racing fuel ofcourse. It should be posted at the gate in big letters. At some tracks, if you are even visitig your friend who is a driver, relative, etc. You are responsible for that person being at your pit and if they are hanging around drinking, you could be asked to leave fofiet points or even barred from racing. The pit is no place for drinking. It's busy in there and you don't want a person that is drunk walking out in pit traffic. JMO I am probably gonna catch flack about this, so-be-it.

Speedy I am the one that addressed this at the drivers meeting. Our pit stewards have been addressed that if they indeed see someone with alcohol to have them leave the pits area and not allowed back in. It's pretty simple our general rules does say no alcohol in pits. However, it would not be possible to search every inch of every hauler and trailer for alcohol so we need to address it when we see it. We will continue to work at it for the remainder of the season I assure you.

What if we bring it in a cooler but it stays in the cooler until after the races are over? Just wondering on this.

Only answer to that is the same thing the general rules say: no alcohol in the pits. Now we have added the part about after the races. So essentially just keep it packed away until after the races. If one of our staff sees you drinking they will have to remove you from the pit area.
