There seems to be some controversy this season surrounding Dog Hollow Speedway and their motivation to get the races in.
I am and will be in the area all weekend close to Dog Hollow Speedway. I will be doing a race report as well as a weather report. As your most trusted source of information here at Racestud, I will report the facts.
Right now, it is overcast, it has not rained and there has been no rain in the area, and the grounds although soggy, are not flooded. Any cancellation made today would be bogus.
Stay tuned.
Do you have an hr by hr report on the weather?

First off the race will not be cancelled today, I know that for a fact. I will be calling Jim in the morning and we will see what the weather maps are showing. Some weather sites are calling for rain and some are not. And for all you people who continue to talk about Dog cancelling, I'd say we tried our best last Sunday. Let's hope a pray Mother Nature is nice to us tomorrow.

Kinda on the fence about going tomorrow night.....
Will you be set up in the pits signing autographs for this night of racing????
I need an old Salvatore Tessio photo from your La Cosa Nostra Motorsports days signed.

To the few here that joke about dog cancelling when it's sunny or alittle rain, give it a rest already. He has been much better this year compared to the last few years. Has he cancelled an event yet this year that wasn't the right call. Don't think so IIRC. And if he waited last week with 50-100% chance of rain on and off all afternoon, I am sure he will wait it out, considering no chance of rain in the morning and 40% scatterd in the afternoon.
The Appalachian Speedweeks cancellation was pretty much in line with a long list of suspect cancellations. Remember the "too hot to race" cancellation?
I'm sure they appreciate the concession workers such as yourself defending the place and all, but I'd say in this case, some criticism is warranted. I'll be on hand to tell it like it is tomorrow.

I think that this whole topic is getting so old. And it is rather inappropriate to be joking about the cancellation of a race that is for such a good cause. I find it appalling to infer that Dog Hollow is playing games when it comes to cancelling, especially the Connor Memorial.
And, as a sidenote, I guess that it was okay for Marion Center to cancel early in the day today - they are not subject to the same speculations that Dog Hollow is.

I apologize, as I forgot about the talks of the appalachian race, I had no plans of going and didn't recall it. Is that the only one of the season, as the Too Hot race was last year, and as I mentioned this year he's been alot better. Sorry no affiliation with the track, just tired of seeing all the lame post's about it. I will be in the pits tomorrow hoping to wrench on the car just like I was last week.

Great cause or not , fairly or unfairly, the Pooch has over the years acquired a pretty long rap sheet not only for bogus cancellations but also for various other sins that have been well rehashed here many times. Like it or not, they have to be 3x more perfect than Jesus was for years to come, because the next time they screw up the keyboard cowboys here will be all over them like flies on roadkill. I'd love to go tomorrow but with a chance of storms in some forecasts and their record of past bullshit cancellations, it's not a chance that I will take. I've been burned too many times by other tracks and will not take the chance on this one.
Sorry to hear that.

Beautiful morning here. Seems to be a perfectly good day for racing.
Have they started on trap prep?

I still won't be there, for non-weather and non-Pooch related reasons, but the radar is clean as a whistle. No storms forming yet. If they don't y'all are good to go.
Shame, I was hoping to borrow a spare kerchief and pair of earmuffs.
