RAIN WASHES OUT JULY 28 PROGRAM AT SHARON; BIG NIGHT ON TAP FOR AUGUST 4 By Mike Leone July 28, 2012 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (Hartford, OH)…Heavy rains from Friday coupled with showers developing and more forecasted throughout the afternoon and early evening have forced Sharon Speedway to cancel racing action scheduled for Saturday night. It marked the first rainout after eight straight completed events. This will setup a big night next Saturday, August 4 for the “Bill Kirila Memorial” Fan Appreciation Night with just $8 adult admission! The Governor Insurance DIRTcar Big-Block Modifieds will not only run their $1,500 to-win May 27 make-up feature, but it will also be leg #2 of the two-night challenge with Lernerville Speedway. The highest point getter will receive a $1,000 plus four pit passes for the “World Finals” to be held in at The Dirt Track at Charlotte November 1-3! One driver could walk away with nearly $4,000 of cash and value! The Barris Supply FASTRAK Late Models, Summit Racing Equipment E-Mods, Gibson Insurance Agency Stock Cars, HTMA/Precise Racing Products Econo Mods, and the Deforest Used Parts Mini Stocks will also be on the card. Nice to see that some of the local modified teams can get a chance locally to obtain a way into the World Finals, without having to travel 5-12 hours in an attempt to qualify for an SDS race.

They are just tickets u still gotta run a super dirt car race to be eligible , and so far I think I'm the only one in western pa that has run a race. But it is a nice addition to the extra money available that weekend its about time we get some extra money races besides the tour races. Thanks to Lernerville and Sharon for working together.

About time? You mean since your class has been consistently bringing so many cars to the track lately?

If at first you don't succeed, then maybe you just suck.

Oops, in the spirit of being overly optimistic that they'd get rid of that rule about qualifiyng in an SDS race for World Finals, I missed that fact. Sucks for the Western Pa teams, would like to see more of them in Charlotte. So basically WRG is providing 4 pit passes , which you can get if you buy 4 grandstand tickets btw, in order to encourage the winner of the weekend series to tow all the way to an SDS race (most likely on a weeknight) where you might get lucky and win $300 and the right to participate in the World Finals.

I'm glad to see the extra money races between Lernerville and Sharon too, but that rule is senseless. The only requirements necessary should be that you have a DIRT legal Modified and the willingness to travel.

I wasn't talking about the modifieds in comparison to other classes, nor was tnt. I just found it curious that it was "about time" for extra money, as if a reward was in order.

Please, donna71, tell me how I'm wrong. Why is it "about time" the modifieds get an increased purse?

I see you changed your stance on name calling, but completely avoided my question. Nice cursing too, for someone who is all growns up.
