I just read where kart racer Tom Dziedzic passed away yesterday. I am not sure if he ever won a race, or if anyone remembers him, but if you want to talk about someone who didn't let a disability stop him, here was your guy. Tom was born without legs and only had one part of one arm. Chuck Harshman fitted a kart with a special steering wheel and seat, and there he was on the track at the old Dusty Hollow Speedway in Transfer. With all that going on, he didn't run half bad, but boy did he have fun. Tom refused to let such a small thing stop him, and more could use his determination. R.I.P. Tom.

I can remember Tom running at blanket hill back in the day. I don't know about the other kids there, at the time, but he was an inspiration to me. So many people are content to piss and moan about how bad they have it (myself included) and you take a guy with a genuine handycap and he refuses to let it hold him back. The world coud use a lot more people like Tom.

I also remember Tom racing at Blanket Hill in the late 80's or early 90's. Always a pleasure to talk to. My condolences to his family. RIP Tom.

I think Tom left an impression on everyone by racing karts. I remember the day he flipped at blankethill and scared the hell out of everyone, didn't slow him down one bit.

I watched him flip over a hay bale at Dusty Hollow one day, real bad. All he cared about was getting everything upright and refired. It scared the bejesus out of everyone.
