INAUGURAL FASTRAK NE “MANUFACTURERES NIGHT” TO EXCEED OVER $20,000 IN PRODUCTS & CONTINGENCIES ALONG WITH DOUBLE $1,500 TO-WIN FEATURES AUGUST 18 AT SHARON By Mike Leone August 9, 2012 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (Pulaski, PA)…One of the many new concepts announced over the busy offseason by FASTRAK Northeast was the addition of the “Manufacturers Night” in conjunction with a Sweeney Chevrolet Buick GMC Pace Performance Northeast Late Model Touring Series event. That event is now fast approaching on Saturday, August 18 at Sharon Speedway. Originally scheduled as a $1,500 to-win Northeast Tour event, the night got even bigger when the May 27 Bill Emig Memorial “Wild Card Weekend” Night 2 got rained out, and has been added to this program. The make-up feature will determine the $1,500 “Bill Emig Memorial” point fund with $500 going to the champion. In addition to the two great touring feature events and point fund monies, over $20,000 in product and contingencies will be awarded to the racers! Each award is valued at a minimum of $150 and 50 registered drivers will be guaranteed to receive a valuable product, two cases of Quaker State “Synthetic” Racing Oil, and a chance to win $1,000 off the retail purchase of a Rocket Chassis, all in addition to their night’s winnings. It is important to note, that drivers will actually receive products and certificates valid for the actual products they win and not certificates valid only towards a percentage of the value of the product. Drivers simply only need to participate to be eligible for the drawings, which will be done randomly in front of the entire grandstand so that the fans may also enjoy the excitement! “This has been a major undertaking and we’re quite pleased with the first year’s results,” stated sixth year co-director Vicki Emig. “We set out for a goal of $15,000 and that has been surpassed as we’re already at approximately $20,000 thanks to the great support of some many different manufacturers.” “We have found that by creating exciting concepts and promotions around our touring events, such as the Sweeney Chevrolet motor giveaway, Bill Emig Memorial Weekend, The Original Pizza Logs Speedweek and now Manufacturers Night participation and interest greatly increases,” continued Emig. “We try to make our events into more than just the standard race event, and this night certainly is that!” All of the 2012 major contingency sponsors have awarded prizes at a minimum value of $250 each, with many others far exceeding that value. Some of the major prizes that will be given away are four F-4 Tornado Brake Calipers and Rotors valued at $2,600, a complete set of Genesis G1 Series Shocks valued at $2,314, two sets of Beyea “Custom” Crate “headers valued at $800 each, and a Lincoln Electric “Power Mig 140C” Welder and Cart valued at $750. Over 75% of the prizes will carry a minimum value of $250, with the rest at least $150. Many new companies have joined the effort to make this night a huge success such as K1 RaceGear, Wiles Racing Driveshafts, Frankland Racing Supply, Turbo Start, Five Star Race Car Bodies, Octane Race Products and All Star Supply just to name a few. Through their participation, racers will have the opportunity to win a custom driver’s suite valued at $750, a carbon fiber driveshaft, a 16-volt battery & charger and more! As an additional bonus giveaway, Rocket Chasses will award a $1,000 certificate valid toward the retail purchase price of a Rocket chassis frame. This certificate will be a bonus drawing over and above the other 50 items and all participants will once again have the opportunity to win this great value. Lastly all 50 competitors will also receive two cases of Quaker State “Synthetic” Racing Oil valued at a minimum of $100. The current list of prizes (as of August 9) is posted below. We are still waiting on confirmation from additional companies. The 50 drivers pulling the best 50 pills in the night’s original pill draw will be eligible for the prize drawings. The order of the drawing will be from the highest pill draw number to the lowest pill draw (a reverse of the heat race lineups). In the event there are less than 50 drivers participating, the prizes that remain will be awarded to the driver’s finish (feature, non-qualifier, etc.) that corresponds to the prize number listed (ex. If prize #3 has not been claimed, driver finishing third in the feature will receive this prize).
