again, a good thread that started off congratulating the drivers who won and deserved to win, turns into a hummingbird bash session. if you guys hate that track so much save your money or spend it somewhere else. your 10$ isn't going to kill anyone. and the 33 saw the green drop, which STARTS the race. he took off and had the lead on the next lap. hence why he lead the field to the restart after the next caution. i even seen bob throw the green flag. great run by brandon and ed both, good run by fuzzy as well. Rodkey drove a great race in the late models. didn't get to see the pure stocks but they've been having some great races for the lead and the wins as of late.

couple of questions for hummingbird officals. First why after the first 3 or 4 weeks of the season has there been no teching of cars? I know of cars that have had their engines pumped and gone over quite well and i also know of cars the tech man said he is not to touch.Either everyone gets gets looked at or nobody should. Second I have never seen the third place car pass the first and second place cars on a restart before the flagstand.Talk about jumping the restart always thought the leader resumes the race? Do the people in charge make the rules as they go or do they have a certain few they coddle too or are they just INCOMPETENT ???

are ther things I don't like about the Bird? Yep. but it is the best we have and Not 100 miles away. Many tracks have their problems and the Bird is no different. In the end, I have seen some great racing and have a lot of good memories there. I think the owners do their best to run a good show. People can bitc# but it is our home track. if you don't like it, you have every right to go elsewhere. On the SS restart, well I have nothing against any of em but to me it looked like the 33 started early. It is rare to go from 3rd to first from turn 4 to turn one on a restart with out a bit of a jump. Officials made a call that he didn't, I accept that.... just don't have to agree with it. I was glad to see Brandon get the spot back for the win cause I thought he deserved it. On tech, I wish they would check cars over once in a while. There are a lot of easy things, four barrels, cubic inches.... do they still have a tech person at the track???

Yup and I hate it. Have been told others are running 4 barrel carbs and bigger motors.Would love to see the tech guy light up that tech barn. LOUIE!

that would cost louie money to turn that light on and we couldnt have that. would like to see everyone go to marion center for 2 or 3 weeks in a row and send a message but if you keep putting up with louie and his tracks BS he will keep doing it and he is laughing the whole way to the bank with your money.

Im here to tell ya that if you think the green flag was dropped before Ed took off, that your sadly mistaken. I watch the flagman probably as hard as any guy can and Ed was by me and beside Brandon before that happend.....he had Brandon passed at the flagstand and Brandon got him back off of two. When that all happend i laughed to myself thinking what the hell are you doing figuring they would dock him the two positions on the next caution....Imagine my surprise when they didnt. Brandon had a really good run and a good car but i would have loved to race with him in the final laps from the position Ed was in. I thought it was gonna be a close one at checkers if him and i were the two sorting it out.
Im not pissed at Ed it was the flagmans and scorers job to fix what he did and didnt. Congrats to Brandon on your first win of the season.

One other thing that made no sense to me was when Chewy had to come in and change his tire he tailed the field 0 laps down, Jamie Price came in after and changed his tire and then they lined him up six positions ahead of Chewy !!!How the hell does that work !!!

For me as a fan, I live 10 minutes from there, havent been there in 3 years, have had free tickets and didnt go, after reading about the weekly events on here have no interest in going, would rather blow my money on gas and go broke and ride 2 hours or more each way to see good racing.

Dont worry we dont miss you there, no one noticed you werent there. Go pack the track in somewhere else, you guys never were any good.

Kinda what I was thinkin too. Was wondering though, if the 1s was an illegal chassis last year according to the tech guy, what made it legal this year? hmmmm

Yep it sure is. Was told by Mr. Tech man personally, that if the 1s showed up this year, it would not be racing. The FACT is if anyone were to measure the wheel base of that car, they WOULD find an infraction of the rules :-)

Correct me if I am wrong (and I'm sure someone will), what I saw was this. Restart, Brandon missed the flag with fuzzy directly behind, Ed saw the opening and took advantage of it. Is this not what racing is all about? and is this not what make it exciting? As for the falgmen at any track, they never fail to disappoint someone. They are always damned if they do and damned if they don't.

Chevrolet Caprice 2 door coupe, longer than a metric (g-body) frame, but not as long as a caprice sedan. And in case you missed it and it wouldn't surprise me that you would. Wheel base WAS checked and was found to be LEGAL.  1s has the same chassis as 9-11 Care to try again Mr Kyle Shannon Hater?

i can agree that the flagman makes some bad calls, and i didn't notice what was going on with chewy. i just knew he was having a rough night. every week there is somethin new down there that they screw up. all 3 of you guys up front had good runs whether ed jumped or not. you looked good, brandon looked good, just wish they would get their stuff together with tech, the officiating, and a few other things around the track.

The 1s has been racing in the area for a LONG time, as well as alot of those cars, and has YET to be disqualified!!! fact of the matter is, it is a legal car. untill the bird starts techin you can bitch all you want but your bitching falls on deaf ears. I beleive thats a really good car and that driver has improved tenfold since the beginning of the season. same can be said by alot of the drivers in that class, and boy do they put on a show. I'd be the first in line to say they are the best show at that track all year long. I still would love to see more techin.

congrats to the winners, all together that was a great show with some GREAT racing for the leads. Latemodel show was a hell of a race with rodkey holding off hoffner and ferrell. the SS was a little caution fest but still, good racing for the lead. congrats to brandon on his win!! congrats to the 3 in pure stock, him and the 1* had multiple laps of side by side racing and it was clean racing. all together, great show! how can you complain about that? and whos running a 383? really??

At the very least they should take the hood off and check for 4 barrels. It is not that hard to pump a car either. I think the vast majority of the pure stocks are legal. There are a few I question just listening to them idle. I was told of one car that was in a wreck saturday has been running a 406 all season. BUT we will never know because they don't check. I do know this the cars that win consistently are worked on each and every week. It takes a lot of work to keep a car competitive and once you start winning..... calls of ''CHEATER" start to be heard. I wish they would check cars over.... but they don't. While the Bird may not be Williams Grove, it is still a neat little bull ring and a fun place to race. If we had nothing to bitc# about, what would we do........? Oh yeah, who is running the 383 in PS? Running last every week when the track is pretty used up, I would think pulling a plug wire or two off would be the way to go.... :P :P :P

Is the 1s car the old car that chad bender ran ? if it is the frame is a metric and the front a -arm mounts are off of an older non -metric chassis ,but i do not think that changes the wheel base it was built that way at rebel chassis. and i am not sure it is not legal to do that is it ? i knew of a car that ran at Marion center that was a metric car and they clipped it with a camaro stub to give it better front end geometry.

The 1s isn't a metric frame car, I've seen it first hand. It is a true full frame car (B-Body). But you are correct as far as it being a rebel, but it isn't a metric frame car.
