I'd say he didn't do too bad for his first time at the place against the best of the best. Only Western PA driver to make the trip as well.Hey he might not do the best but at least he's got the balls to go run at different tracks unlike some other drivers...

Priorities in this area are messed up. Too many guys think that being the King of the Knob is a bigger deal than competing in the best dirt spectate of the year. Shoutout too the hole beater.
While I wish I could be with Jon at the World 100, I think this statement is way off base.
It would cost me nearly $500 in fuel for my hauler to get there and back, add in $600 in tires, a few nights of hotels say $300 in a flea bag place...and I'm spending $1400 for one race where I am a long shot. Add in that its in Rossburg Oh.
That is about 3 nights of racing the way we spend and could be as much as 6 or 7 for some local teams.
We had the world finals on our schedule in November as it was in Charlotte, which is warmer, better place for the family to spend a fewe nights..of course that was panned before the oil leak in the motor..the oil that leaked out the hole in the block.
We would still have been a lonnng shot but the venue was better.
The reality is most of the late model teams run them like I do...best bang for the buck.

The venue was better ???? Buddy i dont know you and i mean no disrespect but if you think theres a better venue for dirt late model racing than eldora for the world 100 you are on bath salts !! It is the absolute superbowl and the electricity in the air is 10 times what is is anywhere else, Ive ran the dtwc and the north south multiple times and they are not even close , no way no how. Yes its expensive to run eldora if you dont have a nasty 430 its a waste of time, if your not buying all brand new ump tires its a waste of time, if you dont have the stones to hold it wide open around there its a waste of time and if 42 years of presteige behind the event and the fact its the one race anyone who ever raced a late model wants to win if none of that stuff means anything to you definately dont go to eldora. I will spend 5 k to go run eldora any day of the week before id spend 500 to run ANY of the tracks within an hour of here. It was the best experiance I have ever had racing even through the rain made it so we only got one qualifying lap and I bottomed out hard as f$%K twice in turn 1 and 2 and ruined what was a good lap in 3 and 4 it was more than worth it. I CANT wait for the dream and the world next year and the year after and the year after !! That place is sick !!! The chance to hold a 430 to the wood @8300 with a 535 gear and crank that bitch down into the banking at eldora is what I live for and theres nothing else like it !! Its why I work so hard just to be able to experiance things like that !! Thank you guys for all of the words of encouragement and I guarantee I will do better next time !! If anyone wants to meet us out there and help in the pits next year let me know. And for anyone who wants one the pennsylvania hole beater gear by arizona sport shirts will be avaliable at the dtwc. While I wish I could be with Jon at the World 100, I think this statement is way off base.

The best part about dirt late model racing is that anyone, anytime, can attend the biggest event without invite and be part of something special. The kind of money guys spend too run a 1000 buck a night regular shows is just as absurd as the same guy who buys UMP tires for a trip too run on the Daytona of dirt. The experience in itself has too be good for any driver.
