is it 25$ per person to get in the pits or per car to get in the pits?? cuz 25$ just for practice without any kind of payout is kind of ridiculous

Not sure what a "fair" price for the pits on a practice day is. but remember, that once a promoter puts one single car on the track he has to pay insurance and that dosen't come cheap!! He also has to have an ambulance on hand and pay some track employes as well.

i understand that but on a regular night at alot of tracks its 25$ to get in the pits. and that covers paying employees, insurance, ambulance, and payout. yeah he has to pay everything but a payout but thats still a little high for a practice day. any given racecar driver has his crew, some more than others, i know we have about 14 people between 2 cars. thats 350$ for just our 2 cars. just say if 50 cars show up, all of which have an average crew of 6 guys. all of which have to pay 25$ to get in the pits just for a practice day. thats 7500$. just for practice.

If $25 is too much than dont go or dont take as many people. He needs to make money not lose money. Look what it would cost you to go ride go-karts at E-racers (not putting them down just using an example) I bet $25 isnt that bad after all. If it is too exspensive it looks like someone just needs to go and watch since thats free! Learn from watching and not racing. JMO

Maybe he's trying to discourage a large turnout. If it was much lower, every peckerhead in the three-county area would be lined up to get in to turn laps on the beloved HVR/GRP/AMP grounds. If it was much higher, he might not get enough cars to get a good read on how the surface holds up.

If at first you don't succeed, then maybe you just suck.

okay, so your telling me that everyone who thinks 25$ is a bit much without any payout should sit in the stands. okay. same scenario i put in another post on here, 50 cars. 6 man crew average. 10$ per head, would still be 3000$ and on top of that, more cars, drivers, and people paying to get in. because they can justify doing so. i hate to tell you, but not everyone that races, watches races, or helps at the races, are made of money and 25$ is expensive to them.

so if you think everyone should sit in the stands for free if they think its to expensive it would look more like this.
just an example...50 cars. driver and 1 crew guy. 25$ a head....(keep in mind, this going by you saying if its to expensive for you, sit in the stands.) 2500$.

on any given day would you rather make 2500$.....or 3000$????

just throwing that out there.

and this is JMO.....

quite frankly i don't care what you think, but i know already of about 10 teams that said they won't be there....no payout...to expensive

9 times out of 10 teams are not going to have 6+ people going with them just for practice most likely each team will have 2 or 3 people going. Here's the deal thats what he wants to charge, and instead of coming on this board and cuttting up a track/owner about what he or she wants to charge is the wrong way of doing it, especially when this track has been closed for so many years and they are trying to make a run at it. Just be happy a track is coming back alive and quit bitching about a $25 pit fee. Most people spend that in a day on chew, cigs or something else stupid that they dont need. By the way look around at these tracks that have these practice days most of them arent making enough money at them and thats why they dont have practices. And most of them charge a $25 fee anyways. I want to thank Jeff Taylor for doing what he loves to do and get another track up and running!

You must be a female whos constantly on the rag the way you bitch and complain all the time. Maybe he set the fee at 25 to discourage lowlife complainers like yourself from showing up.

I spoke to the owner of the track and told him of gofast305 concerns and that he said the average team brings 6 crew members according to his demographics and that the owner was ripping people off. the owners response was to tell gofast305 to come and introduce yourself at practice day and be his guest free of charge.According to other owners of local tracks that at the beginning of the season the pit average is 3.5 people per car and by the end of June that goes down to 3 people per car.The owner knows that most guys are still racing, are burned out or have the Allen Iverson complex{practice, it's just practice}.The owner is hoping to get some drivers that have come to the track from the Clearfield area that have not raced for awhile that said they where waiting for the track to reopen. We know you can not make everyone happy and everyone has their idea how to do it.Like I have said in the past just trying to get a racetrack that was dead and never going to be open another chance.

well test and tune at the bird is $25 per car with around 40 or so cars that show up and no pay out so what is the fuss about paying $25 to go turn some laps so the guy can get input on the track ???? not cutting humming bird down but come on it would be like the same thing ????

Holy shit!!! you people would bitch they were handing out $100 bills and they gave you a wrinkled one. The man is bringing a new source of commerce into the area not to mention an awsome track that he has already put a shit load of money into with no return on the investment yet. If you dont wanna play stay your ass at the house. But if you wanna play come to the track and shut the hell up.
