Practice at most area tracks is 25 per person in the pits. I have no idea why anyone would complain, especially to a guy that is going out on a limb at at a track that so many people seem to want to reopen.

well test and tune at the bird is $25 per car with around 40 or so cars that show up and no pay out so what is the fuss about paying $25 to go turn some laps so the guy can get input on the track ???? not cutting humming bird down but come on it would be like the same thing ????

hummingbird is 25$ per car..not per person.

listen i'm not trying to bash the track, i haven't said anything offensive about the track, or jeff taylor. i really hope this place gets going and is successful. jeff did a great job at thunder mountain, sure they had some problems but what track doesn't? plus for his first show he did a hell of a job. this reply isn't just to rozzy77.

i really do hope the place has a good practice. and if the food is anything like they had at thunder mountain, it won't be a good place to be if you're on a diet. cuz it was good.

and i'll pay my 25$. still introduce myself to jeff if i can find him, i know he'll be busy. but i'd still like to talk to him personally and see how things are going to be next year.

regardless to what the ass holes on racestud who think noone should have an opinion think, i'll be more than willing to epress my opinion about anything all day long. whether its an arguement about a 9 year old in a late model, price of admission, bad calls at a track, you can't tell me that i am the only person who has an opinion.

and the average crew for a car is whatever, it was an example, meaning not to be taken litteraly.

so all you guys who bitch and complain about my comments on this post really doesn't mean anything to me, bitch away.

again, not bashing the track, the owner, or everyones hope for success in anyway. i hope they succeed and bring in some more great racing to the area. the tracks in a pretty good area. easy to find. i'm sure the improvements made are for the best whether they took longer than they thought or not. in my OPINION. might as well get it right the first time.

Holy shit!!! you people would bitch they were handing out $100 bills and they gave you a wrinkled one. The man is bringing a new source of commerce into the area not to mention an awsome track that he has already put a shit load of money into with no return on the investment yet. If you dont wanna play stay your ass at the house. But if you wanna play come to the track and shut the hell up.

idk about any certain drivers but im guessing you will have a really good turnout...only complaint i even have is that it's just a practice :D

If $25 is too much than dont go or dont take as many people. He needs to make money not lose money. Look what it would cost you to go ride go-karts at E-racers (not putting them down just using an example) I bet $25 isnt that bad after all. If it is too exspensive it looks like someone just needs to go and watch since thats free! Learn from watching and not racing. JMO




E-Racers would provide the carts, the track, the crew to prep the cart and track etc.. for 25 bucks ya thats a deal! Lol, lets not compare an amusement ride to racing please, JMO.

Just an update,the track has 12 cars committed so far.We hope people come out and enjoy the evening.They are planning a big bonfire after practice and let everybody meet Jeff and his lovely wife America.They said if you want to bring your own beer or drink that was fine. For those who can not make it Jeff said there will be at least two winter meetings to go over rules and to lay out what the drivers and owners expect from each other.

What type of cars are committed? And please don't answer "race cars," 4 cylinders, Street Stocks etc? Just wondering.

So far we have heard from 4 late models{that could be limited}3 street stocks,1 pure stock and 2 4cylinders. I know Jeff has put a new engine for his trip to Georgia and Texas.I am sure they will make some laps in their sprint cars.

So it's free to watch from the stands. But you have to pay to watch from the pits? I understand people put money into the tracks and need to get some back. But is not the money we race teams put in our cars to put on the show worth nothing.We are taking the chance of destroying a car to see if the track will hold up and a spectator's biggest loss may be a spilled cooler. No track.... No show. No cars..... No show.We have to work together here. 25.00 for the car and the cost of insurance per person is a fair. 25.00 dollars covers insurance and the show on a race night. There is no show is all Im saying. One other thing.,If Jeff puts the effort into this track like he does his race cars it's going to fly too! Good luck Jeff Im sure you'll do fine. As for the food at Thunder mountain hope you do the same. Probably the best track food Ive had.Dan.

There's always more speed!And you don't have to cheat to find it!

I've put a lot of thought into this, so let me first say that I also think $25 per person is a little pricey, I personally have never paid more than $10...HOWEVER...Jeff has put a A LOT of money into the place, and so far has not seen dollar one...it was also put to me this way, what if you go out and rent a track on your own to practice? Well I know how much that costs because we have done that also... We will not even be competing at AMP, and I'm not sure that we are going to be able to take our car and practice on the day scheduled, however if everyone's schedule coincides we will go, we will pay our $25 each, practice and go home...

I'd just like to point out that if you wanted to rent a track for a practice day, you'd pay way more to do so. You can't put a price on the value of seat time...especially this late in the year. Most tracks are shutting down for the season. Get to any race track you can before the snow starts flying.

I am viewing this a little differently as well; I am thinking about the "cost" to practice is far greater than the $25.00 per pit pass; the race fuel, tires, WEAR and TEAR on the Engine and car is far more expensive than the pit pass. If I choose to practice, the $25.00 will just be another expense, I do not think it is unreasonable and surely should not be a deal breaker. Thanks Jeff for all the hard work, I am fortunate enough to see it on a regual;r basis.

Jeff and crew your work to improve dirt racing in our area is very much appreciated! You have already put on a great show at Thunder Mountain and proved that the track still and will always be a successful venue if in the hands of the right promoter. Providing nothing crazy happens in the next few weeks of competition will will most definitely attend your practice to both gather seat time and show support for a well needed good direction in our area. I dropped down and had a look at the track last Wednesday.... its really coming along well. The crew were putting up the wall down the back straight and the poles for the catch fence were up. Concessions, toilet block and the other buildings look great. I think the best thing is that Jeff and his crew are doing the whole job properly, not half arsed like has been the case with the local Speedways these past few years. Dont know if we'll have any Vintage Mods there on the 29th, but I'm looking forward to coming down for a look. Dingo

Just got home from helping out at the track.I got caught up with what you are all saying.I called and gave him an update and told him of the support and nice things some of you had to say and he said how well it makes him and the guys feel.I again told him of the guys complaining of the pit price and that some think they should get paid for their efforts.He wanted those concerned that between the insurance and ambulance it will take about 70 people in the pits.He has 12 cars committed and that does not total 1800.00.Jeff is not trying to make any money but does not want to do what some tracks do when they hold a practice {no insurance}.For those that are concerned please just come and watch,stick around for the bonfire and have a relaxing evening.We do not want to hurt anybodies wallet.Are purpose was to try to get the locals with cars a chance to get back in their cars.We have heard from alot that they had cars and were just waiting to open.Please do not feel insulted about the pit cost.Jeff said they were concerned about loosing money at the pit gate and decide to sell a little food to help make up the difference.
