Since competitors have 2 opportunities to gain points, the event could be key in the race for the 2012 championships. While both series will award a provisional starting position each night, the starting grid has been extended to 26 starters to still allow for 24 qualifying positions open to all drivers in each feature race.

Gregg Satterlee of Rochester Mills, PA holds just a 4 point lead over Nick Dickson of Lewistown, PA. Both drivers have wins and 2nd place finishes at Speedmonster events this year, with Satterlee’s small lead coming from his heat race wins.
Jeremy Miller of Littlestown, PA sits in 3rd just 8 more points behind 1st place, with Jerry Bard from Shippensburg, PA in 4th 14 points out of 1st, Jason Covert of York Haven, PA in 5th. Devin Friese of Chambersburg, PA, Scott LeBarron of Dillsburg, PA, Jeff Rine from Danville, PA, Jack Pencil of Bedford, PA and Dylan Yoder of Selinsgrove, PA round out the top 10. With only a 30 point difference from 1st to 10th and 2 full point events, a large number of drivers could win the 2012 Speedmonster championship at this final event.

Boom Briggs of Bear Lake, PA has an 18 point lead over Mike Knight of Ripley NY in the ULMS points race. Both drivers are gunning for the 2nd ULMS championship. Jason DuPont of Cyclone, PA is in 3rd, followed by Matt Lux of Franklin, PA and Billy Dickson of West Decatur, PA. Greg Oakes of Franklinville, NY, Satterlee, Rob Blair from Titusville, PA, and Bump Hedman from Sugar Grove follow. “The Ultimate” and “Moonsualt Scramble” will mark the 1st-ever visit of the ULMS series and Hesston and promises to bring a strong contingent of drivers from the northern tier of the state.

The pre-entry list for the event continues to grow and will be released in the upcoming weeks. Super Late Model drivers may pre-enter by completing the online entry blank and mailing it to the race director. Pre-entered drivers receive a $100 discount off the car entry fee for this high-paying event. The entry blank may be found at http://www.hesstonspeedway.com and going to the Entry Forms page.

“The Ultimate” and “Moonsault Scramble” give Super Late Model drivers 2 chances to win prize money. A total of $14,044 is available to win, with $900 total to start both features and $330 total for non-qualifiers, based on the scheduled Friday-Saturday program. Additionally, up to the top 50 non-qualifiers will receive a $75 Frankland Racing Supply card making the event pay a total of $405 in cash and prizes to at least 76 drivers. The payoff for this massive event makes it worthwhile for all drivers in attendance!

Semi-Late Model Sportsman (limited/steel block/crate late models) will race for $2,200 to win, $275 to start and $175 for non-qualifiers based on a 2-day race. The top 50 drivers in this class will also receive a $75 Frankland gift card upping the total cash and prizes to $2,275 to win, $350 to start and $250 for the top 26 non-qualifers.

A-Cadets (street/pro-stock) will race for $1,400 to win, $175 to start and $115 for non-qualifiers over 2 days. The 1 day program for Hobby-Modifieds (pure/strictly stock/charger) will pay $800 to win, $60 to start and $45 for non-qualifiers, while the 1 day program for Roadrunners (stock fwd 4-cylinder) will pay $500 to win, $50 to start and $35 for non-qualifiers. No car entry fee will be charged for any division other than Super Late Model.

RACEceiver 1-way radio communication is required for all drivers competing in “The Ultimate” & “Challenger Super Championships.” RACEceiver rentals are not available at the track, but some units will be available for sale from Goshorn Racing Supply. Super Late Models and Semi-Late Model Sportsman will be required to have AMB (red) or Westhold (yellow) transponders. AMB units will be available for rental at the track at a cost of $25 for 2 days or $25 for 1 day.
