In 2012, the management of Pittsburgh's Pennsylvania Motor Speedway will utilize a Sunday evening rain date in the event Mother Nature fails to cooperate with the Saturday night racing action. Times for the Sunday rain dates are as follows: Pit and Grandstand Admission Gates open at 4:00PM, Hot Laps at 5:00PM and Racing at 6:00PM.

Sunday rain date will never be used, always an excuse.

Due to the Steeler game beginning at 4:25PM we felt it was in the best interest of the racers and fans not to utilize the Sunday raindate.

I don't really think anyone that was at the racetrack tonite really gives a rats ass about the Steelers or their away game. I don't think that anyone would give up a day of racing to watch tv

Matt. it was announced that it would take about a hour and a half to work the track in so the races are cancelled. maybe in the future you can atleast give all the teams a choice to either help work the track in with the racecars or the races will be cancelled? I would think that would help speed up the time to start racing again. just a thought. i think you got alot of dedicated teams that would be willing to help out instead of just loading up and going home.

Have you forgotten? Matt answers no questions from the Racestud riff-raff anymore..only press releases from now on. Speaking of which, since PPMS has been extremely conspicuously silent on the issue, one of my sources tried to email Matt at mmiley99@comcast.net seeking some answers to a few valid questions that haven't been answered about last weekend's fiasco, namely giving Jared Miley his spot back leading to Greg Wheeling walking out. As you would expect, he received no answer, zero, zip, zilch. Matt, do not ever come here claiming you have integrity ever again. You have none. Coward. At least admit your screw up last weekend and be done with it.

The PA Vintage Dirt Modifieds had a driver come from Maryland and another from New York to run with us tonight at PPMS and both, along with the 6 or so locals were disappointed at not getting a chance to race, but not one person blamed the Promotion for a bad call. The afternoon was beautiful and not a cloud in the sky till that squall came through and ruined things. The track was so greasy after the rain I could hardly walk accross it to get to my car. Having said this, if Matt had come to the guys and asked them to wheel pack to bed the track down, I'm sure every driver in the Class would have obliged to get a chance to go racing. The problem was it was 7.45 when they called the meeting and about 15 mins later it stopped raining. That would have meant maybe a 9.30pm start and probably a 1.30am finish.... can you imagine the bitching that would have hit Racestud then???? Crucified if they do... crucified if they dont.... no win situation. Matt gave the race meeting his best shot, but it simply wasn't to be. I would suggest that all the learned bitchers and whiners that make a living out of lambasting the Mileys week after week, all pool together their resources and buy a race track..... then run it. Make the decisions and see how many people bitch and moan and groan because THEY know how to run a race track better than you. Marion Center is for sale I believe, so theres your big chance. Dingo

The whole night was handled bad by management and they simply didn't want to race tonight. #1 They called the Cars to the lineup and instead of getting the cars on the track while it wasnt raining, they waited 20 minutes and at 7:20 the intital rain then came then sent the cars back.(also note they didn't turn the lights on also). Maybe already made up his mind? #2 They had a special show and drivers from different states, and some drivers in other divisions driving 2-3+ hours and rushing to get there. There was no consideration or effort, when after the initial down pour and wind drift, the radar was clear as ever. #3 They cancelled around 7:40, which at most it wouldve taken a hour to run the track in which I assume some of the drivers would've even helped run it in to get the show in. #4 Lernerville waited AFTER 4 SHOWERS at their track and got their show in, so no excuses about trying to get it in. I'm not hating against the track, but atleast put some effort and consideration into drivers when pulling the plug so early.

At Lernerville they make a hell of a lot of money off their WoO shows and both the track and series are owned by WRG, which needs every nickel it can get, so they were gonna get that show in come hell or high water. At PPMS hell and high water come when Matt farts crossways or some Racestud crybaby whines about the place, so if you were watching the same radar I was, you'd a knew tonight's show was doomed about 4 this afternoon.

Another sunny sunday.

As far as not sending the crate heats out on the track,I totally agree with the tracks call. As a car owner and driver I would not want to be sent out when it was going to let loose at any minute. That being said I think thet should have had the run in cars out there the whole time.

Then explain to us all why in this thread which you posted as a press release for last night's races, you chose to include the rain date policy in it which would lead people to believe that tonight is a rain date? Doesn't make much sense now does it? http://racestud.com/...showtopic=48054

I know its a risk to run with threatening weather but its also a risk to cancel at first drop, as it pisses people off and causes them to not want to come back... I will give credit where credit is due, my check from the pittsburgher did show up on time !! That is much more than I can say for tyler county who hasnt paid me the 250 they owe me or given any sort of refund/ explanation for what happens with the arm bands from the black diamond ...
