No, I'm not a pessimist. At some point the world shits on everybody. Pretending it ain't shit makes you an idiot, not an optimist."

Always wanted to go to Eldora.... I think with the Firecracker we have our own signature race and those folks....well I believe they want to come to Lernerville. We are lucky to have the track and the folks investing the money to make it what it is.

I think the Firecracker is right up there with any of the national Late Model events. The talent level is very good and so is the racing. It's 3 great nights of complete shows and many things to do through the days. The last several "big" shows at Eldora have not lived up to the hype. The absolute best thing going on the national level right now is the World Finals. Three nights, a racey track, the big three divisions and plenty to see and do in the area.

  • Interests:RACING, not nascar though. But I live & breathe stock car racing. Not so much Sprints, or emods. Even though I own a 2bbl emod, I'm still not thrilled with returning to dirt, after a 15 year absence. We'll see how things go this year coming up, 2012. Maybe it'll grow on me, again.

My alltime favorite, that I would wait all year for all year was the STEEL VALLEY 200, on the asphalt at Sharon. I loved when Jody Ridley came in with his Fords & Ran like heck against a bunch of Chevys.Bill Conzos, Rusty Wallace, Joy Fair, Junior Hanley, plus locals Bickerstaff, Mitchell, Gault, awee,,, man. Those were the GREAT DAYS OF RACING. If racing had 1/2 the carisma of those days, it would be really something. I still love it, & the thrill of my life was when I ran the second division at one of the 200's with my semi late model 69 Chevelle, it was a Bobby Allison chassis, & for being a low budget operation, we finished pretty good. It was the year that Roger Black brought one of the early metric cars, a really pretty olds cutlass. But I don't remember what year. Those were the good old days though. Dick Berry. I also enjoyed the World Series Of Stock Car Racing @ New Smyrna Speedway during Speedweeks. I was writing for Tri-State Auto Racing News, & Got in the whole 10 days for free. I loved that too. We got to meet Granny Tatroe, the 79, or 83 year old Grandma, who ran a Donut shop down there. Ahhh yesss, My illustrias past in racing. MANY GOOD MEMORIES!!!
