What are the options for places to stay without going the whole way to Altoona or State College?

Did a little research... found out the weekend of the race is also homecoming at Juniata College and a bass torney at Raystown Lake. I know for a fact Whitetail Ridge Inn is booked Friday and Saturday. The other hotels/motels are: The Motor Inn - 6920 Motor Inn Drive, Huntingdon, 814-643-1133 The Fairfield Inn - 9970 Shaner Drive, Huntingdon 814-643-3672 Comfor Inn - 100 S. 4th St., Huntingdon 814-643-1600 Mill Stone Manor - 11979 Wm. Penn Highway, Huntingdon 814-643-0108 I know all have adequate parking for haulers. There are a few bed/breakfast around but do not know any information...

Maybe Bedford but that's week 2 of Fall Foliage so it's nuts in town.

If I was going there for the weekend. Call Lake Raystown Resort and stay at the lodge or rent a cabin. About 10 miles south of the speedway. A bit pricey, but a nice area. http://www.raystownr...t.com/lodge.php

Slim and none. You might want to check the Fairfield Inn in Huntingdon. They had a few non smoking rooms left as of 10 pm last night.
