Same here Mark, I also am a Wearing fan. But back then everybody helped everybody if something went wrong. Nowadays most teams will just stand there and watch other teams struggle to get it back together after an accident or incident. Dave was a great driver but also a good person. When he drove the 76 it put him in the same league as Wearing and it just got better from there. Memories are not forgotten and either will Dave Hoffman.Being a Bob Wearing fan, I used to sit in the stands at Latrobe and cheer against Dave Hoffman when he drove the Brockett 76, but only because he was so damned good. I got to know Dave later on and was impressed at what a nice guy he was. I remember a night at Marion Center when Wearing,Jr. got torn up in the heat. Dave and Bobby were there watching and jumped in to help us get the car put back together. Dave rounded up a welding machine welded a shock mount back on for us. They weren't asked, they just did it because they were friends. My condolences and prayers go out to Mary, Saundi, and Bobby. RIP Dave.
Mark Swank
Rest in Peace.

very nice man
A true Gentleman! And one of the best ever! Lets not forget about all his sucess in Skip Burgess's cars and also Gator Harris's 55.....as well as the Brocket 76! He was also a front runner in the Tub Tesean car in the day at Motordrome! Anyone have any idea how old Dave was?? Sad news indeed!
