Pre entry list for this weekend - Late Models 31, Modifieds 19, 410 Sprints 24 and 358 Sprints 14. Maybe they should think about making it a one day show?

Probably have to keep it a 2 day show just so they can make the payoff.

This show sort of ran its course a few years ago when the Stampede and other regional shows started popping up with decent payouts. Guys don't have to go down there anymore to get that one last show in before packing it in for the year.

I agree Chevy. I was wondering about the years to come. Pretty hard to stay over night there to watch 9 heats and a consy on Saturday for 4 divisions. Maybe they will bring back the Australian pursuit!

Yeah i know what you mean. Plus you cant always count on the cars they say have pre-entered to show up. 9 heats and a consi will put you back in the room at like 7:30 lol

I read on another board that if they had less then 35 pre entries per class that the purse would be cut as well.

I dunno. Maybe the numbers aren't there but looking at the lists I'm actually pretty excited of the quality of cars especially in the 410s and Late Models. The days of having too many cars they have them out in the parking lot is over but I still have high hopes heading down there to see a good show. 410 Sprints 1 M Mark Smith Sunbury, PA Mach 1 Chassis 12 Blane Heimbach Selinsgrove, PA Creasy Signs/Goff Racing 29 Christopher Weiss East Texas, PA T N T Scrap Metal B 52 Scott Geesey Wellsville, PA 89 Robbie Stillwaggon Burlington, NJ Quality Auto Body, Freds trlr parts 69 K Don Kreitz Sinking Spring, PA Henry R Sharmon Builders 39 Greg Hodnett Thomasville, PA Trone Outdoor, Eagle Steel, 30 C Lance DeWease Fayetville, PA 3 Clint Ide Morrow Twp, PA E I O Wastesolution, 1st Aide Auto 87 George Suprick Morrow Twp, PA E I O Wastesolution, 1st Aide Auto 5 W Lucas Wolfe Mechanicsburg, PA Grand Prix of Balti./BMW Constr 12 Mike Bittinger Abbottstown, PA C & P Farms 16 Gerald McIntyre, Jr New Oxford, PA Weaver Body Shop/Napa 12 W Troy Fraker Newville, PA TWF Mfg 55 K Robbie Kendall Catonsville, MD Falter Fundraiser/Wortzee's Garage/H 8 H Keith Kauffman Mifflintown, PA Heckman Tree Farm 30 Daryl Stimeling Lewistown, PA T C Transport/Victory Auto Sales 7 Chad Layton Harrisburg, Pa Middlewarth Potato Chips 1‐A Logan Schuchort Hanover, PA 5 Glenndon Forsythe York, PA 19 M Brent Marks Myerstown, PA T J S Body Shop 44 H Joey Hershey Chambersburg, PA Hershey's Racing Engines 5 Justin Barger Montrose, NY J E Pistons, Carrilio Rods, JBR Racing 12 D Steven Downs Georgetown, NJ Late Models 0‐6 Mike Lupfer Shermansdale, PA 43 D Tom Decker, III Tyrone, PA 43 Tom Decker, Jr Tyrone, PA 3 Tim Wilson McClure, PA 46 Marvin Winters McConnellsburg, PA 3 S Rusty Sites Chambersburg, PA 4 D's Chad Hollenbeck Montrose, Pa 23 Gary Stuhler Greencastle, PA 24 Kenny Moreland Waldorf, MD 78 Danny Kienitz Hyde, PA 21 D Dan Stone Thompson, PA 17 D Ronnie DeHaven Winchester, VA M 1 Mike Mort Lewistown, Pa 22 Greg Satterlee Rochester Mills, PA 39 Tim McCreadie Avon. The fact that they didn't come up with the purse last year, and Ernie Davis had to put up his own money to fill it probably isn't helping. Plus, you never know what kind of track conditions you might have to deal with. Also, the ROC series is at 5 mile point, so a lot of those guys are out. Then with the Stampede they will lose at least a few guys from each class other than the 358's. When I first went to Octoberfest they had 4 Sprint heats, 6 Late Model heats, & 8 heats for both Big Block & Small block mods.

I went down almost every year from 1997 to 2010. I might have missed 1 or 2 in there, and it was always one of my favorite shows to go to. The recent years really haven't been kind to this race and I can't see it getting any better. Its a shame.

Same here. Been there every year since 1996. The first year I went to both Hagerstown and Syracuse. Haven't been back to Syracuse since. The Octoberfest was hands down a better show for far less $$$. The last few years, not so much. I'm not sure what the reasoning was to drop the small blocks and replace them with the 358 sprints. The small blocks routinely had higher car counts than any of the other divisions. And, given that many of the small block drivers also have big block cars, did they think that they would get a fuller field by combining the two? R.I.P. Hagerstown.

The reason Small Blocks were dropped has a lot to do with the race at 5 mile point. As anyone who has been there knows, the small blocks are better suited for that track than big blocks, so that hurts them in drawing cars from the Grandview/Big Diamond contingent. Also, just expanding teams that may come to this show. Guys who would have run both Mod classes would have been there anyways, not so for the 358 sprints.

Depends alot on how far to drive also. I enjoy racing at Hagerstown. but not worth the 3 hr drive down and back. especially with Lernerville running and be good cars at lernerville if not better. and I'm driving to Charlotte next week also for World Finals. so get plenty of traveling in next week.

Added to list per searching Websites LM- 24 Rick Eckert 6 Jamie Lathroum 25 Josh Richards 74 Tyler Hershey 358 Sprints- 94 Ted Thomas Sprints- 4 Cody Darrah 33 Brian Erhenzeller 48 Danny Dietirch Adding a few of those guys will make the Late Model race a pretty good one as well as a very solid Sprint Field regardless of the numbers.

Looks like 70% chance of rain on Sunday. Then what, run the features the next weekend?

Accuweather is showing 9% starting at 4pm? I do see weather.com 70% now too. Crazy would be that much of a difference.
