I have always wondered why this idea of trucks on dirt hasn't caught on? We all have our Fords, Dodges, Chevies, etc. We all like to go off road and get muddy. Beat the suspension. Slap a truck body on a super late and have at it. I think the fans would really like seeing trucks on dirt. Too bad we cant make a new division. Who would be interested? Does anybody think it would work in our area?

Seems the trucks on dirt have done well in Iowa. I've watched some pretty good races from from Iowa State Fair on youtube.

from 2011 (around 14 minute mark)

Might be a great idea from a fan perspective. Look... There are a ton of classes that from the fans eye look the same but from the racers view are different... Multiple mod classes, lates have super, steel block, fastrack, rush... Emod, Eco mod... You can't keep up. They're all starting to look like canned cars. Maybe take a class like a crate late and make them run a truck body. If it's a class that's supposed to build into the next level...I.e. crate to super... No problem as the chassis and parts can be the same just the bodies are different giving the fans the feel they are watching something different...not another group of cars that look just like the group they just watched. Get what I'm saying?

I believe the truck class at Attica and Fremont are the same as pro stock classes here in Pa just different body. They just pay better an don't change the rules every year. Every track around here should take a lesson from those two tracks, less divisions, pay them better, and full fields in every division, full pits and full stands.

Personally, some of the best racing I have seen in recent years is in the pure and SS classes. I think it is something that has a lot of potential. I would love to see the cup cars do a few big dirt shows.
