Gara Lynn KristyakGara Lynn KristyakGara Lynn Kristyak, 56, of Stoneboro, Sandy Lake Township, died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, at home.
Born Dec. 22, 1955, in Kittanning, Armstrong County, she was a daughter of Gary L. and Emogene A. Brown Starr.
She was a 1973 graduate of Jamestown High School and a 1992 graduate of Penn State School of Nursing with a degree in nursing.
Along with her husband, she owned and operated Kristyak’s Korner of Sandy Lake for more than 30 years.
She was a member of the Lakeview United Methodist Church.
Gara Lynn loved to ride motorcycles, loved traveling through the Rocky Mountains, the ocean and she loved her angels.
As an avid dirt track race fan, she was her husband’s biggest fan and supporter for many years.
She was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother, lovingly referred to as “Bannie” by her ever admiring granddaughters.
Her husband, Tommy Kristyak, whom she married Aug. 16, 1974, survives at home. Also surviving are two daughters, Amanda L. Campbell and her companion, Bruce McQuiston, of Clarks Mills and Kari L. Safran and her husband, Jeremy, of Sandy Lake; five granddaughters, Kelsey Campbell of Clarks Mills, Kayla Campbell and her fianc Jonathan Schiestle, of Sandy Lake, Kristine Campbell of Clarks Mills, and Kylee Safran and Jenna Safran, both of Sandy Lake.
She is also survived by her mother, Emogene Houser and her husband, Jerry, of Kittanning; her father, Gary and his companion, Janice “Beebs” Martin, of Florida; a sister, Natalie Starr; and three brothers, Jeffrey P. Starr and Brett A. Starr and his wife, Debra, all of Florida and Scott A. Starr and his wife, Judith, of Kittanning.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Connie Starr
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Lakeview Church of God, 2479 Mercer St., Stoneboro, with Pastor Nicholas E. Wilson assisted by the Rev. Susan M. Hoover, pastor, Methodists United In Faith, officiating.
The family will greet visitors following service at the church.
Arrangements by Scott A. Black Funeral Home, 99 Franklin St., Stoneboro.

Hopefully there will be a large contingent of race fans tomorrow at the memorial service to support Tommy. The Church of God is directly across the street from Lakeview High School.
