A.M.P BENEFIT BONFIRE On Thursday December 13, Late Model Driver Bob McMillen had a work-related accident causing severe damage to his hand requiring emergency surgery. The following day Bob and his wife Karen had a devastating fire that destroyed their race shop, two late models, an antique truck, and all their equipment. In order to help the McMillens get back to thing they love the most, racing, America’s Motorsports Park will hold a Bonfire Benefit on Saturday December 29th 2012 at 6:00 PM. Now is the time for the racing family to come together to help the McMillans start over. A.M.P. is inviting you to come and enjoy the bonfire, hot chocolate, coffee, and marshmellows. Bring the entire family. We will be having 50/50 drawings and asking for a $5.00 donation. You are welcomed to bring your own beverages. Please, folks, it is time to help out a fellow racer. All together we can make this happen. P.S. Jeff would like late models drivers to call him at 856-313-2372.

definitly going to be there. never personally talked to any of them, but that doesn't matter. it takes more than a couple people to put on a race, and bob has been showing up since i can remember every chance he could. whether you love them, like them, or hate them. it's time to show some support.

Words cannot express how grateful I am towards those who are so willing to reach out and help this family in their time of need. I have personally know them for years and know for certain that they would be there to help anyone who needed it. I hope for a very nice turn out at this benefit because to watch these guys lose everything has been heart breaking... It has taken a lot of hard work and dedication to get to where they have. I enjoy watching them both very much and I pray that things will come together for them and they will be right back doing what they love. Thanks to all for the support you are giving.

Thanks for your advice.I spoke to The Progress today and we sent them the story. The gentleman in the sports dept. was very helpful and said he would help us out.Jeff is working the phones and has got more people and businesses on board. The thing he hopes is that the fans show up to help support our efforts. It is nice to hear folks talk about helping but we need you all here.We are going to have fun and celebrate the McMillens new beginnings.

you might want to try getting in touch of a few of the local radio stations also . like i said before i hope so many people show up that they need to make a run to the store for more supplies . i think it is beyond words what Jeff and you guys are doing for this family considering there has not even been one race held at the track, to reach out and help is unbelievable to say the least.

I will be there early. If needed I can plow snow with my truck. Where is the Bond fire going to be? On the hill or in the pits?

It is going to be on the hill. They started building the bonfire today.Jeff and Ed Brady were bringing logs from Lawerance Township wood pile today. They also hauled in 40 pallets to burn. You are welcomed to come early with your plow.We hope it will not be needed though.Things are taking shape, all we need is half decent weather and people to show.

Unless its bucketing down rain, I think you'll be just fine Chuck. A couple of things I've learned about the folks locally is that they are a hardy bunch and always willing to support a good cause.

if anyone talks with their friends or on facebook make sure you mention this bon -fire to them because i talked at least 5 couples over Christmas that had no idea this fund raiser was going on, it would be a shame to not have that hill side packed because people had not heard any thing , so if you know any race fans make sure you mention this to them not everyone gets on this message board . by the looks of the weather we will need a good fire just to keep warm . :P
