This was posted on the South Jersey Dirt Racers board.... Author: Brett Deyo Date: 12/25/2012 12:58:15 PM Doug Hoffman, a standout driving talent on dirt and pavement and most recently a track promoter at Bridgeport (N.J.) and Mahoning Valley (Pa.) speedways, passed away last night, December 24. News on Doug's services will be forthcoming. Please pray for Doug's family at this very difficult time.

This is a real shock!!! Doug Hoffman won at Syracuse in 1996 and wasn't all that old. Hoffman also won a Super DIRT Series race locally at Tri-City on August 1, 1999 over the likes of Tim McCreadie, Kenny Tremont, Alan Johnson and Brett Hearn. A real loss to the Modified world!! My condolances to all of his family and friends. R.I. P. Doug Hoffman Walt

OMG! This is very sad news. Not only was Doug a great racer, but a great guy too! My sympathy to Gena and family.

I had the pleasure of interviewing Doug while he was still promoting Mahoning Valley Speedway. Great guy and very passionate about keeping racing viable at the tiny bullring. Will be missed by the racing community. Thoughts and prayers to Gena, Skye and their family.
