Best I can recollect, it would be from the early to mid 80's. It was yellow with red lettering. I thought Rod Rettburg drove it at one time, in addition to his own black #97, but I was told he didn't. For those of you too young to remember or who are not familiar with the area, or who are simply too thick headed to figure it out, Climax One was a Gentleman's club along Rt.22 a few miles east of the cloverleaf with Rt. 66. As far as I know, it's still there, but renamed something else. Haven't been out that way since Latrobe Speedway closed.

Was indeed Frank:Cheech" Gardone in the seat. He later had a big- block sprint, built by Paul White,of Swissvale, that was a real stump-puller, but it was so strong that it kept breaking the frame from the torque. Frank was an easy going good guy who would have been good for the sport, had he stayed........ B)

The last time we were in there, they stopped us from carrying in our own beer, so we had to either drink it out in the parking lot or sneak it in. Previously, you could take it in. They didn't give an explanation, and they were kind of snotty about it. That was about 8-10 years ago. Maybe it has changed since then.
