I for one would like to see this be part of a two day show. It clearly pays as much if not more than any stocker show in pa. And the fact that its being put together by a fellow racer for a good cause has made it one of the most talked about and well paid stocker race in pa after just one show. Lets make the laboon race one of the biggest stock car races in the country

Thanks for the kind words! I'm working hard on a good date for the teams. I thought I had a good one with 9/21 but it seems to be the Little Guy Nationals now. I asked Matt about the Friday night of the new Pittsburgher but that won't work for him. So I'm open to ideas! I want to get the Sharon and Mercer guys if possible but am respectful of their point races too.

Vince, i would consider other tracks as well to put on a couples shows. Look onto dates at other tracks as well with some proceeds going to cancer chariites. what you have started will be huge.

How
About make it 17 laps then have the top 10 run a 10 lap dash to determine the winner ? 17 laps isn't enough if your starting 32 cars

You think 20-25 laps would be better? I kept it at 17 for obvious reasons but also to not have a caution fest.

Eldora in the b mains did a thing where the transfer cars pulled off after the race and the rest of the cars ran 5 more laps , I think running 17 and having a 6 or 10 lap dash for the top 8 or 10 would be cool. Because the guys that wreck wouldn't be involved and it
Tightens the field so they could all have a shot at winning.

Hucks idea is good. It keeps your 17 then narrows it down. You can even take the top 17 if you have over 30 cars

Top 17 is begging for a replay of
Last years race , if your not in the top 10 you shouldn't be on the track for a dash to win

You can't argue less cars equal less chance of catastrophe ..

Regardless more money on the line means bigger balls and less brain. sadly enough the hobby stocks, cadets and lates have respect for their stuff for the most part and put on good shows

We were fine with crashing until a lapped car spun out in front of the leaders on the last lap in turn 3. We then had a green white checkered and certain drivers lost their heads. I felt bad but that would have happened on lap 17 or lap 25.

Either way I think my idea honors your dad and creates guaranteed excitement at the end and also limits the possibilities of carnage ..

Fans love to see carnage! Thats part of why they come most say to see a demo derby.

Vince.... I see PPMS is a regular show on 10/5. Lernerville and Mercer are all off from what I could find. The only conflicts I could see is this is the last point night at Roaring Knob and this show at Sharon : ULMS Super Late Models ($3,000 to-win), Open Stock Cars ($1,000 to-win), Modified Non-Winners ($500 to-win open only to drivers that didn’t win an E-Mod feature anywhere in 2013) & Mini Stocks ($200 to-win) Would Matt give you that date if you would want it? Only downside is a raindate that late in the year. Just a thought...

There's a few grimy blown out welfare pigs who attend the speedway on a Semi regular basis ... I'm sure for a couple junior bacon cheeseburgers they would be willing to offer all types of " contingency prizes "
