TheLegend if he is racing late models it would not be limited late models nobody is going to believe that it's obviously a lie nice try because why would he race all the way at Hummingbird. But it is exciting to think that he might be racing late models but I've been holding out for that rumor for a few years now does anyone know anything about it for this year?

It would be nice to see the SDS Series make an appearance in the area but the LMs and the Sprints are the big draw for fans in Western PA. The mods put on a great show at Mercer when the USNA Series visited and I would imagine the SDS Series would do the same.

I'm sure the SDS would put on an excellent show at Mercer. Thing is, they wouldn't get a good crowd. Yhe primary reason the SDS doesn't even go to Lernerville and Sharon, both DIRT sanctioned tracks, is that the crowds at SDS shows in recent years in the area have been met with abysmal crowds. I have talked to folks at WRG about getting SDS shows back in the area, as has fellow Racestudder Skiz, and we were both given reasons why they don't come out here. While they had very solid car support, the fan count is way off for a big show. It all comes down to money, and there's not enough money in it any more to make it worth it.

If Mercer were to have a "big" modified show at this point, I'd rather they bring in the RoC series on an SDS off date. They'd almost assuredly get a field eerily reminiscent of the USNA show (the fact that modifed racing hasn't changed all that much since then is another story entirely) and the sanctioning fee is less than the nut for the SDS. The big problem there, though is that the RoC is all about American Racer tires and the bulk of modified competitors in the area are on Hoosiers. I think having to buy all new tires might scare some teams off.

My opinion is the only way a track could pull in a good crowd count around here with an SDS race is pair it with a WoO LM or WoO sprint show.
With the success of the World Finals I can't believe WRG hasn't tried to run all three series somewhere mid-summer.
But I guess promotion 101 rules apply here. "Just give them enough of a good thing that they want to keep coming back."

The sanctioning fees for a WoO/SDS show would be insane. I suppose Lenerville could avoid those fees, but their schedule is already packed to the gills with specials. I don't see them adding another one.

There are very few dirt track facilities that could handle a World Finals type show. The only tracks in the entire country that could handle it are Charlotte, Eldora and Knoxville. Why run two of the same show at Charlotte, and I don't see any more than 10 or so big block mods towing all the way out to Knoxville. Certainly not enough to make it worth it. Besides, isn't Knoxville's relationship with WRG really bad right now?

Eldora actually makes sense. A lot of sense. Especially since Roger Slack is the man in charge out there and has a good working relationship with WRG. But I don't know that they could handle yet another huge show either. I don't know where it fits on the schedule in the middle of the summer with the WoO series' having the Dream, Firecracker, Silver Cup and Kings Royal in June and July. It could certainly happen sometime in the future, but scheduling is going to be very tricky.

I don't think the smoda series has a sanction fee .... In fact the winner gets about the same thing as the do on the BRP tour ..... Smoda

All I've heard with regard to Bolland is rumors. I'm not sure if he sued or not. The original suspension was appealed and upheld by WRG. If there's no challenge in court, it would seem he would be all set to start running DIRTcar sanctioned tracks again in 2013 I believe. If he has indeed brought suit against WRG, then that legal process would have to play out either by settlement or judgement before Bolland could again participate on any aforementioned track.

Addicted to Dirt, no therapy or rehab for me please, I'll just learn to live with it. http://thedirtnetwork.blogspot.com/ The DIRT Network

So are you saying that you don't swamp up at the mention of modifieds of any variety, or that you just don't like when it's pointed out?

If at first you don't succeed, then maybe you just suck.
