Colton Flinner Georgia Bound for 'Gordon Park 100' FASTRAK Event!

Pittsburgh, PA (February 20th, 2013) - Two-time and defending Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway FASTRAK/Pro-Late Model ‘Track Champion’ Colton Flinner will hit the highway and venture south once again in 2013 for another full weekend of crate late model competition. The Allison Park, Pennsylvania native, who spent late January and early February in Tampa, Florida racing with the FASTRAK Late Models at East Bay Raceway Park, will this time head to ‘The Peach State’ for the ‘Gordon Park 100’ at the Gordon Park Speedway in Grovetown, Georgia. The high-paying FASTRAK event will attract some of the biggest names in crate late model competition; as well as competitors from all parts of the country. The Grovetown, Georgia event will also act as the opening round of the FASTRAK “Decade of Speed Tour” for the City Chevrolet Southeast / Mid-East Touring Division

“We are really excited to head to Georgia” said Flinner about the ‘Gordon Park 100,’ “We had some luck starting to go our way at East Bay, so hopefully we can pick back up where we left off and have a good weekend at Gordon Park...I just can’t thank everyone who is involved enough...My family and sponsors have been a huge help...can’t wait to go racing!”

The ‘Gordon Park 100’ will consist of two-full evenings of FASTRAK/crate late model competition on Friday and Saturday, March 1st and 2nd. The ‘Gordon Park 100’ weekend will kick-off on Friday evening, March 1st with a $1,000-to-win program for the crate late models; followed by the FASTRAK ‘Gordon Park 100’ finale on Saturday, March 2nd; worth $5,000 to the winner. Flinner will pilot his familiar American Framers, VOX Energy, A.W. Beattie Career Center, Bellisarios Lounge, Randig Towing, no. 75 crate late model at the event. Although distance is an obvious negative-factor for the race team when considering competing at these major FASTRAK events, Flinner feels that racing this time of year in other areas of the country is beneficial to his team’s chemistry.


“I have always wanted to travel and now I have the opportunity to do so” explained Flinner, “Getting out on the road will only make me better as a driver, and make us better as a team...I want as much seat time as possible, so for me to be able to do that, we have to travel, especially this time of year...it’s a great experience out on the road and there will be top-notch competition in Georgia, just like Florida...hopefully things go our way and we can make some noise!”

Colton Flinner, who plans to spend the majority of his 2013 season on the road with the FASTRAK Sweeney Cars Northeast Touring Series, opened his 2013 season at the annual ‘Winternationals’ at East Bay Raceway Park near Tampa, Florida. The FASTRAK Late Models portion of the ‘Winternationals’ took place on January 31st through February 2nd. Flinner earned two (2) top-twelve finishes during the three-day event; with a weekend-high eighth place finish during the final night of competition on January 2nd.
