"Hey John Blankenship, SCREW YOU"
--Love, Lucas Oil Late Models
"I have enough money that it does not really affect me."
-John Blankenship
Honestly it is going to affect teams like Ray Cook and Jason Covert more than John Blankenship.
Bloomquist was talking about being in favor of a one construction type rule with multiple compounds a few weeks ago on a radio show. For now it looks like only the RR will be the only spec tire and the other 3 tires will have to be Hoosier Rib compound tires. This will help some teams as they have less tires to prep and hurt other teams who have an inventory that they can not really use unless they go to Open tire shows. Reading Lucas Oil press releases the last few years, they have been trying to implement some tire rules for races on double weekends and long trips for the drivers. The part of the tire rule I like is that it will save teams from putting the softest tires on the car to qualify.

They already did that by making you heat race in the same tires you qualified on , I will wait to give an opinion until I see the price on these new tires"I have enough money that it does not really affect me."

I love hoosier's double standard. The screwed racers over who went to the extreme deal with the goodyears. A prominent and long time car owner I helped during that time was charged more for hoosiers for open tire events because he chose to run the extreme deal. They already did that by making you heat race in the same tires you qualified on , I will wait to give an opinion until I see the price on these new tires

Lol lol lol !!!! Maybe you should first get a race car and win a race in any division anywhere ... I should take meticulous race cars and enter them into the hummingbird demo derby instead of racing against guys who drive straight and hold their lines and make a serious effort to keep their cars sent free !!! Makes great sense ass clown !!!Legend and Lucas Oil??? Maybe you should try winning one at Hummingbird first....lolol

I find it very hard to believe that there will be no tire deals for a select few Lucas series drivers....

Rick Schwallie just did an interview with Dirt on Dirt and discussed the reasoning behind the switch to Tire Rule. He stated that not only did teams have to carry all the compounds of tires, they also have to carry different constructions of many of the tires. Also the RR will be the only spec tire and the fronts and LR will have to be RIB constucted Hoosier tires from the compounds they choose before the race. You can listen to the interview on DirtonDirt.com website.

Please explain your first hand experience and tell me who was spending 40 or 50 k in tires ? Even with these rules there's no way your running the Lucas tour with less than 20k worth of tires ..Smart move! will save them 10's of thousands, and allow smaller budget teams to compete. For the 61 shows, if they only bought 2 tires the cost would be $10,065. Before they would have multiple compounds ant types depending on the night plus spares and not to mention wheels for all. You do the math.

Just because multiple compounds are avaliable doesn't mean they are used , most people are on the same rubber come feature time. They will still be buying new tires for every event !!! New more expensive tires !!For the 61 shows, if they only bought 2 tires the cost would be $10,065.
