Look At the # 25 in lubes photo's.full windshield in there I know for a while we were putting screens in front of the windshields.we never tampered with the roof line (MUTCH).Who was at that rules meeting? I've been at rules meetings that were by invite only. Always ran full windshields

In your area, 1973-1974.
Western PA cars dropped them a few years earlier (along with front ends, grilles, etc.) as I recall.

They were a pain and a great way to get cut when you tried to clean them.

The problem I rember is the tracks crews cleaning the glass and chrome plastic parts off of the track and getting cut. I lot of flat tires after the windshilds came out of the cars.

I'd never seen a dirt race car of any description with a windshield till I came to PA and caught up on some history here. Still reckon they look just plain weird. May as well leave the 8 track and heater in.

well dingo, you my be correct about the heater ...... 1st night I ever raced was late in the fall at sharon speedway on the 1/4 mile in 1967. while sitting in line my windshield fogged up. it may have been from the rumpity rump from the 6 cyl. or from me breathing drive- in style. It went away. 1967 may have been 4 tracks.

I rember starting a car tire fire to keep warm while the races were running and the snowflakes were flyin. Dingo does it get cold enough in the land down under for that. I am an old one to rember them days.
