Saturday, Aug. 18, 2007 --taken from waynesfeild site
NW Sprints
Modifieds
Mini Sprints
Trucks

*taken from the IRS late model series schedule website*
8-18
Waynesfield Motorsports Park
Waynesfield, OH
$5000

so what gives here? I remeber reading this race was in like end of july, then moved to like july 18th or something and now waynesfeild site has it not listed but IRS site has it listed sas 18th of august. I want to see LM's get around there. If their gonna run em i garuntee i will be there come hell or highwater and a divorce! The idea to have a good late model show there makes perfect sense if co-ordinated with a ALMS event, WoO speedweek late model events or whatever. Could run it un-sanctioned, santioned, or how ever. They put up 5K to win 300 to start and cars will show! Will just take some creative thinking and time looking at other sanction schedules to get it to go great. Maybe even a holiday weekend like memorial day weekend run it on monday. check this out......all the cars traveling right in the perfect area. fremont used to run this monday night and draw a heck of a house full of cars.
May 25 - Attica Raceway Park - Attica, OH - $2,000 to win
May 26 - Oakshade Raceway - Wauseon, OH - $2,000 to win
May 27 - Eldora Speedway - Rossburg, OH - $2,000 to win

wouldnt waynesfeild ALMS may 28th (monday) waynesfeild, oh =2000 to win or even 3K to win look nice in this slot? every car that follows the ALMS deal that weeknd is already in eldora sunday night (approx 1 hr away) straglers that run eldora (big names included) probably would show, and wayne county guys that used to go to fremont would most likley make the tow if their home tracks arent running that night. did i mention that IRS isnt scheduled that night. they are only scheduled the 26th at muskingum (zanesville, OH) that weekend.

here's a list of events from www.nationaldirtdigest.net for just the 27th sunday and 28th monday. notice no WoO events or lucas oil events so most likely several big name LM guys will be at eldora sunday getting some practice on the new clay for the upcoming Dream 100 on june 8-9.

May 27, UMP, Tri-City Speedway, Granite City, Ill., $10,000
May 27, MARS/MLRA/NCRA/CLMA, I-80 Speedway, Greenwood, Neb., $5,000

May 27, SAS East, Lavonia (Ga.) Speedway, $4,000 (two features)
May 27, SRRS, Duck River Speedway, Wheel, Tenn., $4,000
May 27, Unsanctioned, Little Valley (N.Y.) Speedway, $3,000
May 27, Battle of Bluegrass, Portsmouth (Ohio) Raceway Park, $3,000
May 27, O'Reilly SUPR, Champion Park Speedway, Haughton, La., $2,500
May 27, MSCC, Pike County Speedway, Magnolia, Miss., $2,500
May 27, Sunoco ALMS, Eldora Speedway, Rossburg, Ohio, $2,000
May 27, WDRL, Dubuque (Iowa) Speedway, $2,000
May 27, NLRA, Viking Speedway, Alexandria, Minn., $800

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
May 28, WDRL, Dubuque (Iowa) Speedway, $7,000
May 28, SAS East, Toccoa (Ga.) Speedway, $4,000 (two features)
May 28, Battle of Bluegrass, Bluegrass Speedway, Bardstown, Ky., $3,000
May 28, MSCC, Pike County Speedway, Magnolia, Miss., $3,000
May 28, Deery Brothers, Boone (Iowa) Speedway, $2,000
May 28, Northern Allstars, Macon (Ill.) Speedway, $2,000
May 28, O'Reilly TORA, Heartland Park Topeka, Topeka, Kan., $2,000
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
May 29, Battle of Bluegrass, Richmond (Ky.) Raceway, $3,000 ****** tuesday night event*****

forgot to mention.......2000 fans in stands @ $15.00/person = $30, 000. a $5,000/win show with $300/start ALMS show feature purse is $16,225.00. that leaves $13,775.00. Since could be a monday night show run trucks or stocks. and you have that 13,775.00 to cover b main purse for LM's, and the full purse for support division. This money does not include pit gate admission. Figure 4 people per car @ $25.00 to get in is $100.00. 35 late models and 20 stock cars is a total of 55 cars in pits. That gives you and additional $5500.00 to add to what ya have left over to cover ambulance, insurance and so forth. I absolutly think more then 35 late models would show. I think actual # of cars that would attend would be closer to 50-60. Alms also has different to win purse structures as well to fit in a better budget. You can have a 2K to win , 250 to start with a feature purse of 11,150 even. More money means more cars usually though and thats what draws the fans whcih also means more money. guess i just dont see how the track could lose unles it got promoted wrong. It all seems black and white to me.

For ALMS pay structure look for yourselfs. contacts are there and you dont have to be a UMp certified track to run the ALMS series cause attica and fremont arent full UMP tracks.

we don't think they can cover the purse for a 2nd big show this year. Just don't think it'll happen. Sorry.

then they need to get with people that they scheduled show with and correct it cause as you seen its on the IRS schedule. teams travel and need to know in plenty of advance time. they dont run it i will go elsewhere this season as well. I was looking forward to seeing late models there. I might hit the all star show though since that will be as level a playing feild as ya ever get when they havent ever seen the place.

yes but they only had 21 late models, as for tonight fans in the stand. when you have the monster trucks in town. that will pull a few fans away. but look how many sprints they had. a good field. but the latemodels and the sprints both shows were good ones.

well that doesnt help a fella out much wanting to make plans. I can understand waiting to see how the IRS series holds up till closer to the scheduled date. I guess i will wait and see. if ya run em i garuntee i will show to watch and hopefull talk a driver into coming. If ya dont then i may come for all star race and that will be it at best due to other tracks racing and helping a car out.

Well i went and personally asked cub myself after races if they were gonna run a LM show. He said at this point in time NO. He did mention that maybe at end of year in like spetember they may throw something together for em but as of right now its a definite NO. There was other things mentioned, so i will say this: If you enjoy the place ya might want to show it and make a few phone calls to some friends and get them there as well!!!!!!! If the crowd doesnt change then ya never know how long they can be around. Its expensive to make improvements constantly plus a payment and not get cars and fans to help pay it. If all 1000 fans weekly in attendence brought 1 friend you would then have 2ooo fans in stands. now that freind makes a call and brings a freind. Now you have 3000 fans in stands and track is starting to look promising. If any track should close after what i saw it is limaland and bob fricke. Waynesfeild has a great little setup there.

Well I agree with you Hotrod. I attend Waynesfield weekly and the track is the best prepared track in the state and wicked fast. People need to support Andy and Cub because they are doing the right thing and trying to make the place fan-friendly. From week to week when I get there on Saturday night the improvements made throughout the week are excellent. They are definitely spending more than they are making and that can only go on so long. So come out and support them on Saturday nights they have the most exciting division in dirt track racing (non-wing sprints), the best mod racing around, minis are something to see, and the trucks put on a good show every week, and you get all that for just $10. Good luck the rest of they year WMP and I will see ya Saturday night.

These were great points that were made. I support everything that WMP has done this season. In business I find it hard to figure that they will turn a profit this season considering the amount of work they put into the facility. I think that next season and seasons beyond they will start turning profits simply due to the investment. The word is getting out about how good this place really is and that is what it takes in racing....the word of mouth to travel....and a few dollars to follow =) Seriously though.......WMP is going to be a really nice facility (already is as far as I'm concerned) and keeping the word spread is key! Also the website needs to be current and up to date early & every week....that's cheap advertisement at your fingertips. I would also suggest putting some photos of the facility on the website so people can see the improvements.
