Gotta be a new record. Racing isn't even over and someone is on here bitching. From what I've read the racing in the heats was real good.

The racing was great! A little dusty but I am surprised to hear a complaint about the race itself...heck, even the Mod Lite feature was very good. You missed some good racing if you didn't go...

Race was great, never bitched about racing, just a totally avoidable dust bath.

I tried to hold back a comment on this because I wasn’t there. But after hearing comments about the racing from both drivers and fans I can’t hold back. So you were cold and it was dusty? Sounds like you were at a PA dirt track at the beginning of May! Would you rather the track was one groove and not racy but less dusty? Some people just love to complain. Did you want the crew prepping the track to make it warmer for you? I don’t understand how you saw such and good race and are still complaining. Maybe it was cold and maybe it was dusty but if that’s what it takes to see some great exciting racing I would think that is a fair trade. Maybe you should stay away from dirt tracks if you don’t like dust. Maybe stay indoors if you can’t deal with a spring night in PA…

Sprint Car Racing 101. Fans with brains watch the racing, not the dust.

Lol. I have no idea what Roaring Knob was like. But I do know for a fact that there was more water in Churchill Downs for the Kentucky Derby than what Lernerville put on their track this past Friday XD

Dust is a distinct possibility when attending a dirt track
car race ......

It has been hard on equipment, however, the track has had bite and has to led to some great races already this year. None of that slow follow the leader $hit because the track is slick from top to bottom. Mercer still can have some follow the leader action but mainly because of the track layout. These wider tracks shouldn't be having those issues if they were prepared properly.

Sadly, slick tracks have become the norm around here for the past 5-10 years and everyone is forgetting the great racing that 'bitey' tracks always used to provide.

I was there last night and it was my first visit there. Yes it was dusty but you cant knock the racing. Also the quality of talent in that field was great. It was nice to see a new track and a great field of cars. The facility was also very nice as well. Hopefully they run another sprint race again this season.

It was an event. The first ever sprint car race at Roaring Knob. Left home on Saturday afternoon and drove to a race at Shenandoah Speedway in Virginia. After the race drove to Markleysburg, Pennsylvania and slept at the rest area. It was cold and windy but the car has a heater. Got up and went over to the speedway about eight. Cap Henry and crew had driven from Mercer the night before and were already there at eight. Looked around at the facility and then drove about 12 miles for breakfast at McDonalds. Met a couple local race fans, one of which had never been there. They were going to watch Talladega on television. Sounds exciting. Went back to the Speedway and just watched the track come to life. Met the owner of the facility and had a nice talk. Got an early pit pass and watched the rigs start to pull in. Hey, 54, 22, 2L, 5, 7K, 20E, 27, 9c, 33, 13, 40, 27, 69, 35, 22, 4, 8, 1s, 1a, 83, 0 .. Friends arrive from Butler, Chicora, Kittanning, Grove City and Youngstown. We switch clothing for the hoodies. Might get colder. Three sprint heats and then some watering. Great feature. Yes, there was dust. But my memories will be of being with good friends, seeing a great feature with drivers from eastern and western PA and knowing they were racing for a nice purse. Left in a hurry because home was about four hundred miles away. The rain was kind enough to remove the dust from the wife's car and the dirty clothing went in the laundry basket about 4 a.m. Yes. It was an event. The first ever sprint car race at Roaring Knob. Don't let anyone else tell you different.
