Just wanted to see what some other people's thoughts were about this topic. It seems to me that with the popularity of twitter and facebook, the amount of topics and traffic on this board has decreased. This used to be the place to catch up on the weekends action and see results, and hear about what interesting things happened at the track if you didn't make it a night.

The other reasons for decreased traffic here and increased on Social Media is that you don't have to deal with the idiot element that just put shit on everyone and everything on Social Media. When someone has their own page, they moderate it and delete the stupidity... something that doesn't happen here. JMO

I actually find more information on here than on Twitter. At least in more detail.
And the idiot factor adds some fun on occasion.

I don't access Twitter, or Facebook for that matter, so I really could care less about either of them. I don't find anyone interesting enough to hang on their every Tweet, no matter how controversial or informative. I figure I'll find out about whatever controversy is created via either medium in due time. I don't obsess over social media as some do, not to be judgemental. I'm also still of the old school belief that cell phones are a convenience and not a necessity, so there you have it. They have helped to turn society into a mass of increasingly ignorant and self centered, classless jackasses. Again, not to be judgemental or critical.
Having said that, I think that both Facebook and Twitter have reduced the number of topics and posters on Racestud's.

I think this stopped being a message board and became a PR board. I also think some people just got turned off this board by the constant bickering and constant put-downs from other members.

do you guys miss my good ole days? well, i see us all as family anymore. we complain,and some love it, but it hurts the sport. there is no reason to anymore. we all come here for the same reason, the love of racing. facebook, and cell phones, my goodness they are terrible. girls only take pictures of themselves from every view, everyday, and cell phones are only good for the gold inside........i agree with skull....... i still like to come here, but ignore the idiots anymore. no sense argeing over who or what is the greatest, as it leads to nothing really. we all go where we like to go.....enjoy your home tracks, it's all we got.......

You have your own website linked in your signature. Throw a message board on it, moderate it, and delete the stupidity. Along the lines of "modgasms" twitter and Facebook will satisfy the instant race results crowd. Get qualifying, heat, and feature results as they happen. If you are OK with waiting a day or 2 keep racestud.com on your favorites for race results and silly banter.

I get instant results on Twitter. Really I'm only here at this point to remind everyone of the time fanmods mooched 20 dollars in gas money off of Gary Risch and if it was still free to create and post xtranormal cartoons; I'd probably still be here everyday.
I will say that fanmods SueHoney and Matt Miley aren't nearly as interesting of adversaries as Rotund Robin sprntr2001 and *Andy Horsetooth*
