One of my heroes growing up in Mercer. The first time I saw him race was with the old Hudson 6 and it had the checkerboard roof as the owner had a feed business and he used Purina red and white for the paint scheme. Later, the cut down Metropolitan body with the 427 Ford motor and he won a lot of races with that car also. He always had time to talk to us down in the pits after the races were over.

Yes he does Lube,I think he needs a permanent vacation from this site. Its pretty low when you come on here and make fun of a tribute to a deceased racer. <_<

It's sad to see another one of our Western Pa. "Legends" pass on. He was one of my heros from old Butler Speedway. You could count on Yip, Harry Hein, Dave Thompson, Bob Rice, Bob Wearing, Frankie Choura, Jim McGill, etc, to put some great racing in the 6 cyl. class. Later on I was lucky enough to get to know him better by racing with him at Butler, Mercer and Lernerville, and working with him at the old Pullman Std. plant, where Yip was a forman. He always had time to talk racing and chew on his cigar. R.I.P. Yip You will be missed
