just saw this on their website...interesting.... "After having multiple incidents and altercations in ALL six divisions during the May 17th event at the Clinton County Raceway, management has decided to give all the teams a week off. Deliberately taking out of competitors, starting fights in the pit area, abuse of race officials, abuse of employees, threats, damage to property, childish behavior, and overall lack of good judgment will not be tolerated. Friday nights show resembled more of a Wild West Side show than a race. Racing is a difficult and emotional sport with its inherent risks and we know that every division can have “one of those nights” or have one driver or team that needs to be dealt with. However, when every division across the board has multiple incidents on the same night with threats of escalation, something has to be done before someone gets hurt or worse. We would like to send out sincere apologies to the fans, sponsors, drivers, and teams that had nothing to do with any of the incidents that took place. There are a lot of great people that show nothing but respect for their fellow competitors and work hard to make the races a safe family environment. To the rest of the teams, use this week off to remember that racing is supposed to be fun. Towing junked racecars off the track, breaking up fights, and paying for broken property is not our idea of fun."

Some people never emotionally graduate high school. Now they have to reap what they sow. I believe that Vern Wasson's track record of racetrack operation/promotion speaks for itself. I hope it works out, as Clinton County is a cool little racetrack.

I would say half of a good move. Instead of penalizing the problem cars or teams he penalized all the teams and fans. Should of set the bad ones out for a week or two and cost them points. Wes

Actions have consequences. Why punish the fans and racers who were behaving accordingly? If you have racers that can't operate within the set boundries of good behaviour do you really want them at your facility?

I was there Friday night and i don't know about any fights in the pits but the e -mods feature was removed from the track because of so many yellow flags they were taken into the pits and told they had a time limit or 3 more yellows and whoever was leading was to be the winner, well it was yellow flagged 3 more times and the race was called but in my opinion it was because of a lot of new cars and the track slicked off and that class runs such a hard tire plus a lot of over-driving . you hate to see everyone being punished the guys who were fighting should be kicked out .a lot of cars were from that track (Dunn hill)??? that never opened .

I also don't know of any fights in the pit area!, I personally think Mr. Wasson is crazy to cancel everyone for the bullshit of a few! As far as I can tell he has had descent car counts, better than most tracks so far this year! Last year he was bitching no cars this year he gets cars and closes on one of the biggest weekends of racing during the year! If you want to be a promoter bullshit comes with the territory! Most tracks are begging for cars this year! All'sI know is he must have a pretty important picnic to attend!! Lol

Maybe the innocents will give Clinton County a "week off" for putting them in time out tonight. Missing a week of racing for no fault of their own might not be their "idea of fun."

If at first you don't succeed, then maybe you just suck.

I would say it was a tough decision to give over 100 cars the night off plus the crews and fans that go there . like i said i never heard security being called to the pits.

At least they were given a long enough notice that they could get their car ready for a different track this weekend.

Or maybe its because McKean is having a $7500 to win $600 to start show and some of those guys wanted to go there?

May 31 was scheduled as a 305 event from the beginning of the year.
