I normally dont put other tracks down on public media like facebook or racestud BUT i just got off the phone with my dad and WOW Sharon Speedway DOES NOT care about the fans/drivers. Here is why my brother took my dad to sharon tonight and after the last feature AS SOON as the the last race is over they have the driver come up to the flag stand get a pic with the flag then as soon as that car starts moving they SHUT ALL the lights out in the grandstand and pits ..... HELLO there are still fans in the stands who need light to get safely down the steps and there are drivers who need lights to load their car... so as a result of the lights being shut out my dad fell down the bleacher steps THANK GOd he wasnt hurt then there was a group of young people standing at the bottom of the bleachers laughing at him thinking it was funny. Well THANK You SHARON SPEEDWAY i will tell EVERYONE I know if you go there take a flashlight to get out of the bleachers and take lights to load your car. THEY DO NOT CARE about the people who pay the bills US ( the fans & pit people)...............................ALSO a few weeks back we drove past the track after the races were over and ALL the lights were shut off and there was still one trailer in the pits trying to fix his car to get it in the trailer. THANK GOD he had some of his own flood lights to see or he would of had to unhook his truck and use the headlights to see to get his car loaded..... what kind of track owner/track manager would not at least leave 1 light on til every trailer is out of the pits??? my answer is simple a Track manager who doesnt care about his drivers. thank you for listening... after these 2 things I WILL NEVER go to Sharon Speedway ever again. You must REALLY CARE about your customers whom pay the bills.

Sharon is a very nice place and they listen to what you have to say. We asked for the berm to be cut outa the middle of the track and guess what last night you could run all the way to the wall. Sorry that this happens to you and yes it would not hurt them to leave the lights on for an extra 30 min or so and maybe now they will. Hope you change your mind and come to Sharon again our sport can't afford to lose any more fans. Thank you team71l

I also am sorry to hear that had happened to you and your father, thank goodness he is alright. As for the lights being cut out I cant say for sure why they did that but I am sure it was not to get anyone hurt...as for the punks that were laughing, karma is a bit@#...
I too believe that Sharon Speedway will listen to its fans...a few years back they "down sized" the bleachers or I should say they prohibited any fans from sitting along the back stretch(eastside grandstands) during regular shows. My family and I have always sat in turn 2 since the addition of those back stretch bleachers and were of course were upset that they closed that section down. Well after a phone call and stopping up at the office and speaking with Kate Blaney, they listened to their fans and re-opened the back stretch bleachers. I really hope that you have a change of heart and continue to go to Sharon, I am NOT an employee or even have ANY ties with Sharon Speedway other than just watching races there for the last 15 years...

Yes I agree we were in the pits lastnite helping a buddy in the crate division which were the last feature of the night and he no sooner pulled the car up to the trailer and all the lights went out....good thing we had everything put away before the race was over who knows what would have been left behind...but I love the sport and will continue to support it wherever. But I do hope management at Sharon acknowledges this issue its a courtesy that is appreciated by all

This has been going on for a while. I had it happen to me a couple of years ago. Trying to get through the pits to get to my car after the last race and all the lights we shut off.

The lights should have never been turned off until every person has cleared the stands. That is a MAJOR safety issue and could result in major injuries. Thankfully this person was not injured and it should open track managements eyes and they change their practice.

Anybody think maybe they had a power outage???? Because that makes no sence to do that! The cost is in turning them on! Thats the power surge!

Most local tracks like Lernerville keeps them on till everyone is gone, ppms turns them out pretty quick also.

Definitely not a "power outage "...unless surges systematicly put lights out 1section at a time
