French would probably tell them it would be okay as long as it paid $600 to start. Part of his concept is that the winner doesn't win more that twice what it is to start. $1200, $600, $600, $600, $600, $600......... Versus $1200, $700, $500, $400, $300, $200, $175, $150.... It's supposed to be affordable sprint car racing. They are hard pressed to pay $1200 to win for 410's in western PA. Those numbers above represent the concept, nothing else. I went to a 305 race last night.. $400 for first, $300 for second and $200 for all the rest. Don't like $400. Make it $500 to win. $400 for second. But that means $250 for everyone else. It's the concept.Still no official word from the racesavers about what's going on? Maybe French told them they weren't allowed to have the race like he did the $1200 to win race they wanted to have last year.

The car count between Dog Hollow and Mercer has always been bigger at Mercer. Mercer is not the only track running OSW. Sportsmans Speedway runs OSW weekly on Sundays. In addition there are several options in Ohio. Tracks like Lernerville run a couple shows every year for limited sprints with nice payouts which the OSW guys have supported. You can also race with other sprints. Several OSW cars have run with PST. Dennis Wagner took his OSW car to Georgia last year and beat a field of 360 sprints. There are no penalties or costs for running these types of races with OSW. You WILL BE PENALIZED by Racesaver if you run any race that is not sanctioned by them.Ok Iam just asking to make sure I get the facts please. I live close to the now closed Dog Hollow and looking to get into 305s. I looked at both web sites and looks like if I lived near Mercer OSW would be the way to go but I don't live close to there. Racesaver looks better with a lot more tracks to race at. Everything East of me is Racesaver. Maybe western Pa to run 2 series of 305s? If Mercer only has 1 Racesaver running there and OSW has 11 and 10 5.3 they got a full field right? I can't see OSW getting any bigger than running at Mercer where Racesaver is already regional. Does this sound about right?
With regard to the amount of Racesaver tracks out there you have no where to race in Western PA. Something very important for you to keep in mind, you cannot just tow to any Racesaver track with your Racesaver Sprint and race. You must request permission to race. Here is the actual statement from their rules:
Procedures: Participation is by invitation. We reserve the right to limit the number of entries at any event. Events require pre-entry.
OSW lets you race your car when and where you want. When you come back to your weekly track as long as your seals have not been tampered with you are free to race. Good luck whichever way you decide to go.
Mercer has been averaging close to 18 cars weekly. Every time the car count reaches 18 the track owner at Mercer pays a bigger payout. Will Racesaver do that for you?
The basic concept of Racesaver is not a bad one at all. The rules for both are basically the same. The biggest difference is car owner's basic right to control when and where he wants to race. Not one lone voice out there trying only to protect his own interests and pocket book.

Thanks for the information. On racing Racesaver with 410 or 360 is ok I do believe? Ryan Lynn raced a Racesaver at Bedford this year and last year I watched 4 out of 5 Racesavers make a show at dog. As that rule I think is to let PASS know if you are coming to race with them. Never heard them telling no one not to come only if it was Port or the Grove that get 30+ cars. Is the Ohio 305s sealed motors or open? Heard Sportman gives out a pit pass for last and not cash? The car count between Dog Hollow and Mercer has always been bigger at Mercer. The Racesaver rule applies to any race you run outside Racesaver regardless of the division you run. Thanks for the information. On racing Racesaver with 410 or 360 is ok I do believe? i think that sportsmans gave pit passes for the 4 cylinders and i don't think they do that anymore.

I don't think OSW would condone giving out a pit pass for last instead of cash and I don't think Sportsmans would even consider doing this if they ever hoped to see that car owner, driver and friends again. Thanks for the information. All they needed was enough racesaver cars. Looks like it would have been at least $300 to win and $150 to start. Oh, well.Nothing happened to him because the rule is only enforced if you run with another 305 group. They don't care if you run with the 410s or 360s.
I see that it's official from Marion Center that there's no 305s on the 3rd. Way to go racesaver guys! F-ed that one up good!

Sorry John Doe i had to find the facts to be fair. You are right he was aloud to race with 410 because there wasn't a Racesaver race going on that night. So if a Racesaver car doesnt have a Racesaver race that night he can race a 410 or 360 race but he is no way to race a non Racesaver 305 race. As far as Marion Center goes it was a Racesaver race first but track owners didnt understand that there is different 305 groups. Do to that there was confusion and with that they decided not to run any 305 race. (phone calls to track complaining that it was Racesaver). We all need to realize that theres going to be 2 305 groups in Western Pa and need to work togather or every track owner wont want to have us. Hope this clears it up someNothing happened to him because the rule is only enforced if you run with another 305 group. They don't care if you run with the 410s or 360s.

What has Racesaver done to encourage cooperation between the two groups of limited sprints in western Pa? Nothing. The OSW guys have invited Racesaver to race with them and even have gone so far as to honor their sealed engine. It doesn't work that way in reverse. In fact the Racesaver teams who would race outside Racesaver gets suspended until their car is etched again. Never mind the fact that seals were never tampered with.Sorry John Doe i had to find the facts to be fair. For record I have a friend who at one time went to Clinton County with his Racesaver car to run with their 410 sprints. There was no Racesaver race that night. At the next Racesaver show we bought pit passes, unloaded the car, and later pushed the car up for hot laps only to be told we could not compete that night. The engine needed to be reteched first. Oh and by the way you won't get your pit passes refunded either. So if a guy from this area pulled it off, good for him, Racesaver doesnot allow you to race anywhere without a new tech inspection.

Please fill in the history for me for facts not a fight please. 5.3s started at Sharon then came to Mercer? When was 305s added or did they run with them all the time? Didnt someone try and start Racesaver a couple years ago up there and what happened? Again just trying to understand and get the facts. Sportsmans signed up with OSW and they have access to those cars. As long as they don't run on the same night as Mercer, it should work.

There were never enough of the 5.3s. They were going to be phased out and replaced by the 305's. Somehow the idea of phasing out the 5.3's got phased out. Sharon's problem became western Pa's problem. Like they say, follow the money. And it doesn't lead to VA.Please fill in the history for me for facts not a fight please. 5.3s started at Sharon then came to Mercer? When was 305s added or did they run with them all the time?
