how about the legend did he show up.10:45 p.m. - Three drivers who didn't enter Thursday night's first preliminary program have joined the field today, including one very notable racer: two-time and defending Firecracker 100 champion Scott Bloomquist.
Bloomquist, who was at the track yesterday and ready to compete, said his departure from Tennessee to Pennsylvania was delayed while he made arrangements for repairs on his motorhome. The 90 percent chance of rain that was listed for Thursday also kept him from rushing to Lernerville.
Other newcomers today are Bump Hedman of Sugar Grove, Pa., and Kevin Wilson of Stoneville, N.C.

I would like to know how Bloomer got such a good Heat position for Sat show? I thought it was all based on your performance for the Thur/Fri races? Since he wasn't there Thur, how did he get to start in front of guys who were?
It's done by your Best finish from either race.. he got 7th in the 2nd Preliminary Saturday afternoon.. its not combined finish from Thur/Fri.. your finish from the other race is just a tie breaker..

Yeah that seemed real bogus to me.. Not sure I like the way that is done. Guys that make both shows should definitely be starting ahead of those that only made one for the 100..

It's been that way since they started running the format with two prelim features. It's worked out fine for several years, just because now it helped someone you don't like doesn't mean it's a problem.Yeah that seemed real bogus to me.. Not sure I like the way that is done. Yea that format allows everyone to have a bad night on one of the prelims and still get a good starting spot in the heat.. It's a pretty good format

I got nothing against Bloomquist, back off.
I havn't been to every Firecracker but I don't remember something as egregious as a guy starting on the front row of the 100 after missing a prelim show before. It just don't seem right.

How isn't it right ??? Are you arguing there should be liberal participation points ??? They base it on your best night so one bad night doesn't ruin your weekend. Makes perfect sense to Anyone who isn't liberal and doesn't think not keeping score is a good thing ...I got nothing against Bloomquist, back off.

I'd just rather see cars that make both prelim races start ahead of those that don't. And those cars that do well cumulatively in those prelim races starting in the front of their heats on Saturday and the feature based on those heat finishes.
I have no idea what you're talking about bringing politics or liberalism into this forum as you are so oft to do for no reason, and as far as not keeping score......I'm trying to "keep score" for the entire weekend, not just one race. If jacking up Thursday night puts you in the hole for the rest of the weekend, tough titty. Don't screw up in the prelims. It ups the pressure and the urgency and should lead better racing.
If you screw up on Thursday night you can either go out and win on Friday and start mid pack on Saturday or pack up your junk and go home to your momma.
Just my opinion.
Couldn't agree with you more. Your efforts for BOTH preliminary events should factor into the 100. Huck's argument is more of a liberal one conceptually, considering that you actually get two chances at scoring a good finish. These traveling stars are good enough, they don't need anymore of an advantage than they already have.
