92 cars total. My hats off to all drivers. Each class was loaded with cars, and despite that, each feature didn't really have many cautions. I belive even with all the cars and the B main, people would have been out by 10:30-10:45
Not many cautions? IDK what track you were at, but it couldn't have been AMP. Street Stocks where ridiculous! Late models were not much better. I gotta say, I wanna thank the Management for putting on the show and makin it work. they did a great job. but that track sucks to watch. boring racing all the time. one lane.... I mean it is what it is, but for their sake I hope they change the lay out of that track in the future. OR, buy a different track. haha

The important thing is did sun honey catch a quick " mod gasm " ??Maybe the track layout is fine, the caution fest is because of all the bone heads that race there. Congrats to Luke hoffener for another win at another sub-par track/competition.

The only thing that is wrong with the track is turn 2 is too narrow, all that is needed is some widening and a little more banking and it will add to passing on the track. I bet that they address this issue in the off season this fall and the lates will be able carry more speed through1 and 2.Not many cautions? IDK what track you were at, but it couldn't have been AMP. Saturday I heard a few people from the bird complaining about the size of AMP. I've heard this plenty of times in the past too. But the truth is the tracks aren't really that far off of each other in size. AMP has longer straights and the Bird has wider sweeping turns. The Bird is a little faster but not by much. Also the viewing area at the Bird is lower and that gives the appearance that the the action is faster. I'll be honest and say I always felt the grandstands at AMP are a little too high. I do agree that AMP could use a little face lift. I think if they just match the banking at both ends and the fix the transisitions; the track would be heads and tails better. Just my opinion.

if you go to the a.m.p. website you will read that Jeff did not want to open until next year and was asked by so many people to run this year he decided to open , the track has always been that way over in turn 1 and 2 it is actually kind of flat 1 lane up and it does need to be re- shaped i am sure the drivers have given these guys their feedback and it hopefully it will be fixed next year .
I believe if he makes the right changes, this track can go places. But ive been to amp multiple times. the only place ANYONE can pass is out of 2. very few can pass anywhere else. Widen both corners...I think youll see more racing than "drafting" hahahahah LMAO
I wish this owner could have bought Clearfield and kept it dirt!

Like I said in different post, no passing and a ton of cautions. When Hoffner caught the last place car, he followed him for 10 laps as he couldn't pass. Tip my hat to management for the effort but not my favorite place to watch a race.
I know you said this twice now that he couldn't pass him... We were standing on the hill where you walk up from the Pits... Hoffner was idling in comparison to everyone else Once he got out front before lap traffic he was lifting at the flag stand and not getting after it hard till the car was straight out of 2... I really don't think he ever got full throttle after that.
.. I honeslty believe IF he would have been pressured he would have passed whoever he liked, whenever and wherever he liked.
Jeff told everyone that was at the rules meeting at the beginning of the year this, so I'm just passing along... IF you have a legitimate complaint, opinion, advice, suggestion.. Contact him..
So far this year I've seen guys at times 4 wide at that little bullring...
Was Sat the best night.. Nope! Just Lots of cars... Have their been snoozer races elsewhere YEP.. I get tired of all the negative surrounding this place and this sport in general... We as racers, fans, and track owners and management are all dealing with the same thing... A rough economy and dwindling competition..

The cars are partially to blame in this. 95% of the cars there run the inside of turns 3 and 4, which makes the upper portion of the track nothing but marbles. It has nothing to do with size, banking, etc. There is enough banking and is plenty wide enough to run a high groove in 3 and 4. May not be the fast way every night, but its also why no one passes. They do it at bird too, stay as low as you can in the turns and straights and make it a 1 groove track.

I don't think it was the 11g, What I watched was the flagman go on the track and point the black flag to the 46 and he went off. I think this was a result of banging into the 37 the whole way down the back stretch..
Yes he did. I got all of my racing at AMP 6/28/13 on my Face Book page check it out!!!
