It was another great night of racing at the Monster Half Mile. Brandon Burgoon and Alex Ferree put on a clinic in the first Super Late Model heat, running two abreast a large part of the time without so much as touching, and then, in the feature, Burgoon got under Jared Miley several times, but just couldn't grab the lead (other than when Mike Johnson brought out the caution). Burgoon is really fast, and should be in the winner's circle very soon. After a first lap spin, Michael Norris charged through the field for a fourth place finish. Nice to see Steve Baker finally having a good run. Congratuations go out to Tommy Schirnhofer, coming from 12th, I think, to win his second consecutive Pro Late Model feature. Some great racing between Justin Lamb, Laura Lukon, and Tommy during the course of the race. Justin Lamb keeps knocking on the door, and will surely be in victory lane soon. Another great track surface provided by Brian and the crew. A big shout out to all the drivers who had photos and treats for all of the kids, and some of us big kids.
I agree it was a great night of racing. We enjoyed meeting the fans. Late model race was excellent between H1 and 02. Crate race was good too. The 8 car ran down 93 and 84 from half a straightaway behind. He passed 93 and looked to us like 93 came off the wall and tried to take him out as he was getting passed. Also congratulations to Vince Laboon on the win in Sportsmen.

The 93x sure has smashed up that 8 car pretty good the past few weeks by hitting him.

You must be the mother or gf of the 8 car driver...weren't you the same one that was crying about it a few weeks ago? I was at Mercer last night..so I didn't see the incident you're speaking about...but how does one "came off the wall" to take someone out? So the 93 car bounced off the wall like a cue ball to get the perfect trajectory to take him out? He must not have smashed him up too bad because the 8 car has won two weeks in a row.

That seems to be the world we live in now. What I find ironic is how few people commented on the great show last night. But let the smallest thing go wrong, and there are six page posts with everybody chiming in.
