With the weather forecast and flood warnings posted for today and tonight I'd guess it's not going to happen....

We were told that they will, most likely, add an extra feature to coming events...to make up the rest of the show.

Marion Center Speedway – July 6, 2013 Marion Center Speedway’s Force Inc. Night was cut short Saturday night by a thunderstorm that blew through the track just prior to intermission. The cancellation of the features and consideration of the other activities going on at the track will determine when the rest of Saturday night’s program will be made up. Marion Center Speedway will be hosting the 9TH Annual Indiana County Fire Chiefs Convention July 10 through the 14TH. Please check our website for more information as to when these races will be made up. Only heat races were run Saturday night before the storm hit and here’ re the results of those heats: Mate Smith of Glen Campbell won the W. G. Satterlee & Sons Street Stock heat race (only one heat)—the Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic Fastrak Crate Latemodel heats went to Troy Swindell of Claysburg and Butch Moyer from Ashville—The Lias Tire Super Latemodel heats were won by Dave Blazavich from Marion Center and Dan Lee of Windber—The Force Inc. Steel Block Limited Latemodel races went to Jeff Weakland of Hastings and Joe Petyak from Gallitzin—In the first of two heats for the Best Kawasaki Micro-Sprints the winner was David Hawkins from Lower Burrell – the second heat was just getting into the third lap when the storm hit. The Willow Farm Campground Strictly Stocks didn't get to take the track at all. This coming Saturday be sure to join us at the “Thrill on the Hill,” Marion Center Speedway for the 9TH Annual Indiana County Fire Chiefs Association Firefighters Convention. The Firefighters Convention will take place at the track grounds from Wednesday July 10 through Sunday July 14 and includes a whole bunch of family activities such as small rides, games and vendors plus entertainment nightly. DJs and bands such as MoMAD, Riding Shotgun, Brian Miller and New Roots will be performing in the evenings in addition to the firefighters activities like “ Battle of the Barrel” and “Bucket Brigade.” The Convention continues into Sunday July 14 with a car/truck show and flea market and more musical entertainment. With the hosting of the Firefighters Convention, Marion Center Speedway will not be racing Saturday, July 13 so leave the racecar in the garage but still come out to Marion Center Speedway for nightly entertainment. Keep checking the website, www.marioncenterspeedway.net for more information on make-ups and any changes that might occur and schedule for the Firefighter’s Convention. Remember the race day hotline phone number to call for cancellations, delays or other race day info is 724-397-2108. The “Fastrak” folks have announced that Marion Center Speedway will be part of a triple-crown weekend of Fastrak racing on July 27. Our Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic Fastrak Crate Latemodels will be joined on that date by other drivers in a sanctioned feature paying $2000 to win. Raceway 7, OH and Eriez Speedway in PA will make up the other points of the crown on Friday and Sunday as the sanctioned Fastrak Crate Latemodels visit the area this summer. They send me the press release so as soon as I have it or I am able to post, I get it up...always nice to know what is going on....they have been doing a decent job of posting full results for the week on the web page....and posting the press release on the "blog" page....
