Midseason rule changes always suck. What changed?

I would have rather seen them call a meeting and discuss it with all the drivers as opposed to an out of the blue change, some 90s and early 00s 4cylinders were stock over 150 horse. i understand both sides of the story but should have been more involvment with all drivers and car owners. i hope this gets in hand before we lose car counts and good competative racing...i would hate for this to turn into the old sportsmans modified class where things got so out of hand they finally said to hell with it open the rules and allow anything...

No mini stocks will b permitted to race if the engine is over 150 horse power...

That's absolutely retarded. They can't actually enforce it if they don't have a chassis dyno on site.

That's not going to stop somebody from doing some work on an engine that's supposedly stock HP. And yes, somebody almost assuredly will.

without a doubt i agree with you, everyone is against one car, so my question is, if you get rid of that one car and say another one of us step up and win 3 or 4 races in a row is it luck and a good car or r we cheating so you give them the boot, and so on and so forth...not sure how it will work out but im sure larry will have a sit down meeting with all of us and explain further...its a great class and alot of good people that help each other out i would hate for this to b its demise.

Yeah well suppose it's no secret that it's about my car.
More info on the car can be found here: http://www.edmunds.c...an/sentra/2006/
The car was built according to all rules, all things on the car were discussed prior to building the car with the officials and it's now being banned?

I find it pretty sad that other people were also building performance based ministocks because not every 4cyl racecar is or needs to be either a cavalier, neon, or other car.

Come to Sharon Speedway

That's where I'm going.
Not going to race there when these people are now are saying I admitted to cheating with traction control? Yeah please explain to me how its even possible on my car. Every electronic on the car if even included when purchased is nulled when either the check engine light is on or the seat belts are removed, which both are. This includes: ABS, Traction control, and so on.

I've always thought there should be a weight rule in that class using engine size. Like a pound per cc. So a 2.2L would weigh 2200. A 2.5L would be 2500 etc. maybe even 50 or 100 lb added if you have DOHC. Even the field a bit. I don't know if those are even realistic weights for those cars but any similar system would work

I think the rule is also total B.S. as well. Look at what happened to Tri-City Speedway. They changed the rules during the middle of racing seasons and well they aren't racing anymore. There are some rules I've seen on pavement tracks (Lake Erie Speedway) where they add weight to your car after you win. I don't know if that is a good thing or not.

No that's a pretty good idea actually, I don't really know a realistic weight but hey if I ever did race there again I would be willing too add all they want.
I guess they said it would just cause more problems or something? Not really sure how but okay. lol

Assuming most of the cars aren't already.

I don't know how else two of the exact same make and model cars can have such an extreme difference in the speed.

I am not sure the answer to this. But I know at RW7 they start you in the 6th position the week after you win. Then if you win a 2nd in a row they start you in 12th.

Ap24 started 12 last week and within a third of the race was in the front, several of the front running cars all season could not touch him. He has won by 1/4 to 1/2 a lap every race he has won. So do you do you continue to allow him to run which would lead to a lot of guys saying the hell with it , do you open the class wide open, which would be bullshirt and ruin the class, it is a stock class, or do you send him away and keep some kind competiveness in the class. Jmo I feel the later is the best call for now. Maybe have a meeting with mini's after season.
