Hats off to track prep crew. Work between heats and feature made for a great surface for the features. Drivers put on a great show in all divisions!

We were sitting over at clearfield and a guy texted a friend beside me and said I got here late and there not even done running the track in yet. My buddy told him well I think you missed the heats ,that's the intermission grader show..

Started promptly at 7:00, heats (and one make-up feature) were over at 8:05. Regular features started about 8:30. And, yes, track was awesome and provided great side-by-side racing action!

I have to say, there was some great side by side racing action in all divisions. Clean and good racing. The late models were impressive. Rodkey and Moore Put on a hell of a race. This is exactly why the bird needs to do something about the car count. TRY something....its such a better track for the fans and has way better racing action there. Its not Nose to Tail, only pass if someone wrecks infront of you like AMP. There wasn't a lot of cars at the track and there was still good racing. imagine if they TRIED to pull in cars and got a decent car count.

Thanks Skip. It was a good race and we all had to wait till they announced who won cause we weren't sure. One thing about it is that I don't get nervous when my boys are racing against you cause I know you will run them clean. Congrats on 2nd and maybe next week you'll get them. But I am thinking (from a mom's point of course) that it's Brandon and Shawn's turn. You too old farts had your turns this year. hahaha

I couldn't tell who won in SS at the line. Looked dead even to me. There were some pretty darn good races. I figured there would have been a few more Marion Center cars there since they didn't run.

The last three weeks there has been some very good racing in all divisions at the bird. The street stock race last night was one of the best I have seen in a long time. Sure they need to draw a few more cars in but in my humble opinion too many cars on that track seems to make for a lot of tore up cars. A few more in each division sure wouldn't hurt though. I think what is more important for the Bird is to figure out how to bring more fans in. Do they have to have 20 cars in each division to bring the fans in? It has definitely been some good racing with what they have had. Is it fair to charge $25 to get into the pits with Steel blocks headlining a four division show? They get you out of there at a decent time but that may leave some time to bring something different in on occasion and see if it helps attendance. Maybe a class like micros that have a lower payout, or how about a king of the hill race? Maybe something non racing related? Does the show at the Bird provide enough entertainment for the non die hard race fan? Of course there are many experts on here so I'm sure somebody has the answers.

I would like to see them try a topless steel block race some nite. It would let the fan see a little bit more of the drivers in action in there cars plus my draw in a few more cars that just want to try one would' t even have to raise payoff. This may interest some drivers and fans on coming out.

I say take the bodies off. That way I can watch the suspension work! And I could look for Magical Manifolds.

Insurance seems to be the SAFE word. Anytime a track dosent want to deal with something they cry insurance. So what they are saying these guys who run wingless sprints do it without insurance to the track? I think not. Hell a sprinter has no roof no doors and no windows!!! Just a large hole in the seat bottom for "junk" If you get my drift.....
