Marion Center Speedway - July 27, 2013 Marion Center Speedway had to cancel its Saturday night program due to the heavy rains throughout the day. The Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic Fastrak Crate Latemodel Special will have to be rescheduled with the sanctioning body and will be made up at a later date; therefore Marion Center Speedway will not be running Sunday, July 28. But next weekend August 3 and 4, Marion Center Speedway has racing scheduled both Saturday night, for a regular racing program in all six divisions, and Sunday for the make up date of the rained out July 6 races. The admission tickets purchased for July 6 will be honored August 4 ONLY. If you don't have a July 6 ticket, regular admission prices will be charged. The August 4 races will also include Kids Bike Races which were originally scheduled for July 6. Saturday Night races are at the regular time of 7:30 and Sunday Races will be at 3 PM race time. Keep checking the website, www.marioncenterspeedway.net for more information on make-ups and any changes that might occur. Remember the race day hotline phone number to call for cancellations, delays or other race day info is 724-397-2108. Marion Center Speedway would like to thank our sponsors for this 47TH season of racing under the direction/ownership of the Potts family that include Lias Tire/Cooper Tires, Marc Sallack Well Service/Trucking, Willow Farm Campground, Todays Hot Country Q-102 FM Radio, Butler Auto Supplies, D B Laraway and Associates, Best Kawasaki, Force Inc., Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic, W. G. Satterlee & Sons and WGM Gas. Thanks to all of our loyal fans for your support. See you this coming Saturday and Sunday at Marion Center Speedway the Thrill on the Hill for more exciting racing action as we gear up towards the Butler Auto Supplies Season Championships. 3PM! Thats about the biggest JOKE I have ever heard! Good luck on that DUST FEST! 6:30 would be more like it! And why do these people have a a Sunday rain date if they don't want to use it! And thats eveident by the by the stupidity of the 3PM race! If you race there Saturday night... you may as well camp there! Not fair to the drivers at all! How could you go home and service the car????? And what do you expect the fans to do????? leave church early to get to the races????? You people don't care because you allready have the money for the show in the bank! Now its just a pain the azz for you to have to run it! I don't care if you have been raciung for 47 years....its never too late to start being STUPID! And Truthfully....You may as well cancel that Labor day special now! Because for the last several years....you haven't ran one special event other than Saturday nights! ! JOKE! You won't be getting any more of my money! I was really glad to see your track getting respectable car counts and doing well But enjoy your ride on the crest of the High wave! Because with decisions like this ....you won't be there long!

I think 3pm is a great time for the makeup race....some of us have to get up and go to work Monday morning....so it will be nice to actually be home at a decent time. Plenty of time to service your car if you wanna race bad enough you will get your ass outa bed sunday am and get the car ready to go. And for the fans that go to church....I don't know of too many church's that have service that long or late. I love how everyone can criticize the local tracks and never give credit for what they do try to do! If you can run a track better then step up to the plate and open a track.

Yea, they will be lucky if they last another 47 years!!! Go to first services and you will have plenty of time. If you don't want to be part of the "dust bowl" stay home and watch NASCAR.

Amen brother, I was always under the impression that these tracks operate as a business so how do you just not makeup races without losing money, apparently all of these tracks have really raked in the bucks over the years,i know if I don't work hard I don't survive, cant understand it, as far as the 3pm start, just go to another track sat nite where you will be home earlier, then go to center on sunday with your rain ticket,we all know that around here everyone runs sat nite, shouldnt be too hard to find another track to run where you will get out of there earlier,JMO

I'm not a fan of daytime racing either, but MCS will be packed on that day with or without you, believe me.

By the way, what the hell do you think that Ebensburg will do that's so different that causes you to have a textual stiffy over it's possible reopening? They will have nothing different than 90% of the other tracks in the tri state area, trust me. Super or Steel Block LM's, Fastcrap LM's, Pee-Mods, four-cylinders, some form of Outlaw stocks and/or Mod-Lites/Micro-Sprints. Wow, it'll be earth shattering. I can't wait.

I think that depends on where you live! Oviously you must be near Lernerville! Its your home track! if I want to go there its a 100 mile trip! I think Ebensburg is a good central location! I doubt Marion Center will be packed next Sunday! We will see! Funny how times change! When I was growing up Motordrome and Hagerstown both ran Sunday...Started at 6:30 pm and were both packed with cars and fans! Hell in 1983...the average latemodel count at Motordrome was 35 for a regular Sunday night show!(Guys like Charlie Schwartz...Mike Balzano....Larry Moore....Jack Boggs.....Geisler..... Ferree..... Banal....Miley.....Blackie....Wearing..... Huffman......) Every Sunday night???? Now all the Sudden...thirty years later when no one works.....everyone has to get up for work???? I think its more economy than anything! Funny also how ten years ago when Latrobe was racing Sunday..They had 1200 fans a night ! I guess no one had to get up for work then either! personally...I think Sunday was made for racing! And so does Nascar! But you can't dirt race when the sun is out!

Chances are....if you race MarionCenter on the third....you won't get home till around 1am! So if you are Christian and attend the church of your preference...Most services are like 10am and Noon! I do realize there are a few at like 8:30 am as well ! If the races START at 3pm...how do you make it???I guess you don't work on the car and you don't attend Sunday Worship! And you don't get much sleep either! Remember If you have a one hour tow.... You will need to be on the road by Noon time at the latest! And remeber...you got home at 1am...then till you got into bed...2:30 am???? What if you have a two hour tow??? And the Fans that attend Noon time Worship????Get out at 1pm...go home and change...eat lunch...Hope you live within an hour or less! Just POOR Business! And like I said...It really doesn't matter to the track! They allready have the money for the show in the bank! The less that come back...the less they payout! Not to mention....you aren't getting any additional cars that way either! Marion Center doesn't want to run Sunday Shows....PERIOD! And they don't want to race one week past Labor day either! 47 years old...set in thier ways....and don't want to change! And its only a sucess formula because there is no mortgage on the track! Easy to make money and stay in business when there is no Rent or Mortgage! If there was....they may really have to come up with some good business sence! And the dust...Guess no one on the Hill to bitch about that! lets just hope no drivers loose cars, or get injured because of dangerous dust conditions! Just mt .02

I hope they run the same rules/ classes as Bedford at Ebensburg.
