The sprint that got into the pit wall got airborne but stayed on his wheels and hit the wall with the rear of the car, but the # 6 sprint that wrecked in turn #3 was just as vicious as ron davies wreck. Does anyone one know who it was and are they all right'I saw him go airborne from turn 1. My first tought was ,he's going over the fence. I checked the moon last night but it wasn't full. A lot of torn up cars in all the classes last night.A flip in 2 of 3 heats for the sprints. The one looked like he flipped into turn 4 pit gate. All in all a lot of bent metal last night.

Yeah I to was in turn 4, stuck throttle was my first guess from the way he shot out like a cannon...they were all racing hard and I did not see anything "dirty" or "stupid" between any of them...That is how I witnessed it, Davies was passing him and the 03 bumped him in the rear quarter causing Ron to shoot out over turn 3.

The best way I can explain is it looked like one of those jet boats that race and catch a bad wave and makes them get airborne...he glided from the top middle of 3 and 4 all the way into the fence that protects the pit grandstand...didn't flip or roll, just was airborne the whole way...Bar none the worst LM wreck I have ever witnessed...I was not sure if I just witnessed a fatality...thank GOD it wasn't...I was not able to see the wreck. Does anyone have video of it? Heard it was nasty. Get well Ron!

Posted elsewhere that Ron was discharged with concussion and will have to see a specialist for the shoulder.

I admit I was wrong. did not look like a stuck throttle. it happened so fast, and I wanted to get the hell out of the way, what I saw was it looked like he was punted in a tight pack. just glad everyone is ok. davies is one hell of a driver. also glad none of the track personal were crushed removing the wreckage. those guys need some safety lessons. note the feet between the car and the tow truck.I just got some word from a long time friend who races at Stateline and the other tracks on the Northern Tier and talked with members of Ron Davies family. Ron did suffer a concussion and a shoulder injury. He spent Friday night in the hospital but was released Saturday afternoon. As suspected, a stuck throttle was the cause of this very scary crash.
This was a nasty one and we can all be very thankful that Ron's injuries were not any more serious than they are!! GET WELL Ron!!!

You're way out of line on this one.
Ron Davies has been a tremendous, well respected driver his entire career, a good bit of which I have had the privilege of watching.
Were you there? If you were, did you even see the event? It had absolutely less than nothing to do with his driving style. Anyone with half a brain that saw the incident could reasonably deduce that the throttle stuck, especially given the experience Ron has.
