Well, well, well , as the Motordrome season nears the end the same old sh*t seems to be taking place. The stands are thinning out and the racers (who are receiving a monetary reward) are fed up. Bounced checks? Come on. The racers supply you(Stan Laskey) with a service and you credit them by giving checks that will not cash because of insufficient funds. Just walk away and let someone else run that track like it should be run. You have ran it into the ground and this same thing happened last year where drivers did not receive their rewards from the piney laskey race until you got bailed out by an unknown source. You are not a businessman and have no clue how to run a race track. Give it up and get out. Sell your cars or convert to dirt would probably be the best option because I envision gas wells on the property by this time next year.
Kind of makes you wonder how much money Stanley is stuffing in his pockets from all the food thats being sold to all the free ticket holders.Sure not going to racers or even the workers. Guess he needs to go to vegas one last time in november and everyone else is paying foe it.At least when mileys ran it people got paid,as they were business people, not pretenders like Lasky.

Lets compare Apples to Apples here! You can't possibly beleive that you can give a $12.00 general addmission ticket away and everyone of the free tickets is going to buy $48.00 worth of food! Being in the food business...I can tell you the gross profit is about %50 before you pay the help, rent or utlitlies! You end up at about %25 profit! So how does that compare to getting $12.00 for a ticket that you gave up nothing to get????It doesn't! I would say most people probably spend about $10.00 at the concession! I don't understand how anyone could think giving away free tickets will pay the bills! Also....I can't imagine any business man would want to buy the place! Why spend $1,000.000.00 for something that is losing money no matter what you do????Not smart business! Thats like spending $250,000.00 for a garage so you can change your own oil! Feel sorry for the pavement guys that have cars and want to race! I have friends that have them! But good common sence has to set in somewhere here! Drill for gas and forget it! I heard Miley's don't have the mineral rights anway?????? So who would buy it under those circumstances?
You know absolutely nothing about running Motordrome or any other track. Stop pretending you do.

First off to all u dirt dreamers- I highly doubt drome is going anywhere. The fan counts were less then last 2 but they still were good and looming weather may have played a factor. Oh yeah how's the counts at your local tracks outside of sarver-don't answer I already know. And to all you mathematical genius and entrepreneurs let's see- u have the same staff to pay whether u have 50 or 5000. And from what I hear they are making more than they have in years. You know exactly how many tickets were free each week?- no you don't because you just run your mouths without any idea of what your talking about. As far as Mileys running the track-well they didn't seem too asphalt friendly when they were gonna lock the gates a few weeks ago.Guys have not been paid that is true- let's hope for the expected leadership changes for next year AND an actual set of rules before spring.
This has nothing to do with motordrome; I'd like to know what you think the counts are at my local tracks. i.e. Bedford and Marion Center

I heard the samething , rumor is , its Tony StewartI heard the miley's have an offer in hand to sell the track but that it is not anyone associated with motordrome. Heard it is somebody involved in racing and someone who has built and managed tracks before but that's all I have. I did hear it from a very credible source though.

Last time I checked I'd hardly call those tracks local to pgh- since u brought it up and know so much what WAS the count at motordrome last week? Tell me all knowing? How often you attend? For this time of the year dromes count is up for a regular night I garauntee and by the way I've been to ppms recently-which is a local track. This has nothing to do with motordrome; I'd like to know what you think the counts are at my local tracks. i.e. Bedford and Marion Center

Tony has said hundreds, if not thousands, of times since he bought Eldora that he is buying no more tracks.
And turning Motordrome back to dirt makes ZERO sense, because it went pavement out of neccesity over dust concerns. Those concerns would be exacterbated in today's world. Tony might love dirt racing, but he's not retarded.

I would hardly call Motordrome "local" to Pittsburgh, either. PPMS, yes.
Your passion for asphalt racing is admirable. But, for whatever the reasons, this area has not been able to support it since the late 80's to mid to late 90's, or since Heidelburg's heyday. No matter what argument you put forth, Motordrome was way more popular as a dirt track than it ever was after it was paved. Do I want to see it fail as a pavement track? Hell no. I'd just as soon see it survive and thrive. But wishing it was and the reality of the situation are two entirely different things.
And comparing how many cars show up at Pittsburgh to any track is a study in abject futility. I honestly can't for the life of figure out how the place stays open. But I can guarantee as soon as the numbers start turning red, it'll be closed.
