thats were the $300 dollars to win late modle points is coming from. WHAT A JOKEoff of their website....
Admission: Adults $12, Seniors $11, Family Pass (2 Adults & 2 Kids 7-12) $30, Kids 7-12 $5, 6 and under FREE, Pit Fee $30.
After skipping last week due to outrageous admission prices and shitty show looks like I'm bowing out again this week. Looks like I'll be hunting a new place to race after being there 10+ years. No rules, obvious favoritism , no tow money , dust central, and this year a tire shredding track I'll be forced to run somewhere more economically and fan friendly.o,and the bathrooms.... If that's what you call it. Everything else is catching up. Goin down the shitter. Every year they gouge you the last race to pay their illustrious point fund at the end of the night. No thanks.

I know it was extra last week as well but they definitely passed it along to the drivers. I know I made more than what they had advertised on their website. I have no complaints about what they paid out that's for sure
That's a first ! Don't brake in the heat and not be able to start the feature.you won't get a dime.you must run 3 green flag laps to get any payout.

Like it or not the area needs those " primative " tracks , if they didnt exist most of the " primative " cars that race at those facilities would quit racing due to the distance they had to travel and getting shit stomped every week because of all of the good cars having to race at the same track. This isn't talking down on any one who races anywhere , but it's not realistic for guys with regular full time jobs to travel 2 or 3 hours one way just to race against guys who are out spending them 4 to 1Talk about getting ripped !!!! If you are foolish enough to take it, you deserve it..
I have not supported that place as a fan [ not a racer ] for a long time and will continue to do so. IMHO the place is what it is and nothing is going to change.
As far as places like Dog Hollow and some of these other Rinky-Dink race tracks closing, so be it.
I could care less. In my opinion they were and are doing nothing to make dirt track racing the sport it should be.
These tracks that have these primitive facilities, cave man rest rooms, really primitive seating, llighting, out house restrooms and in general just plain eyesores should close.
Who wants to bring someone new to joints like these for their first experience at dirt track racing? I don't and won't.
Let them close and let the racers and fans that supported them move on to the tracks that deserve
their " business ".
As far as $30.00 for the pits @MCS Sat... For what? I think I would want a good explanation. You the racers deserve one.
I don't have a nickle in it, so I guess as a fan I should care less about what you the racers have to pay to get thru the gate, but I do.
What it costs you the racer to race has a direct bearing on the future of the sport. Some of these tracks have no business being in the business period. Like I said, some of these weaker tracks need and should close for the future of the sport.
I know most of you probably can not see my logic, but I've been around for longer then I can remember and this ain't my first rodeo.
Like you will say.. If you don"t like it stay home. I will not quite do that but what I will do is give my business to the tracks that I feel deserve it.
And some of the tracks that have closed and some that should, so be it.
Just think, some of these tracks fall to the wayside and what happens? These few fans and their racecars flock to these other tracks.
More racecars and fans at the remaining race tracks... Huge car counts, consi races etc. Everythings better. The big fan base returns to these tracks.
Sometimes you have to " thin out the herd " to keep the strong strong.
I sometimes think I have the solutions to a lot of problems when it comes to racetracks but the problem is I am not in a position to do anything about any of them.
Everything I write is just my opinion. You can choose to agree or disagree with me. I guess maybe that is why this board I feel is informative and fun.

Couldn't agree with this more. These little tracks serve a purpose in the racing community.

If a $5 higher pit fee is going to break you, then it's time to take up another hobby.
$5. A piece for a family of 5 is an extra $25..... ? Why. To pay our own point fund. Robbing peter to pay Paul. Makes no sense. .... Looks like I'll head up and check out the Bird. We've ran up there in the past and they paid more for streets than Marion center pays limiteds.

Ding, ding, ding.....we have a winner. Do the same people bitch when they get "0" payout for their other hobbies? How much does it pay to go fishing? Boating? Camping? Hunting? Backpacking? Drinking beer all weekend? Going to a concent? Going to a movie? Having a family reunion? Getting married? Good lord.
Also, TheLegend is spot on in his comment above (gasp!!). Actually, I prefer the podunk tracks. At least at the podunk tracks, I don't have to deal with the Patagonia-wearing, American Idol-watching toolbags.

none of these things (except owning a boat maybe) even come close to what owning and maintaing a race car is.... car/body/engine/tires/fuel/weekly pit passes/gas to and from track....let me know when going to a ballgame or camping for the weekend will cost you thousands of bucks....

It's a HOBBY.......
No one is holding a gun to their head forcing them to spend money on a race car.

10's of thousands in a weekend. You can drag race your buddy f
Red light to red light in your 1978 ford f100 with 742,000 miles on it for very little money . Or you can buy a circle track car and spend a bunch . Just like you can hunt squirrels in your back yard or go on an African safari hunting hippos ... Any hobby can be cheap or extremely expensive depending on the degree you choose to participate.
