Have never made the trip to McKean County, and was thinking about checking out this weekends fall classic. Whats the racing like, any guesstimates on car counts, and any suggestions on hotels near the area? We usually camp, but the camper's floor got soft and needs to be worked on. Any ideas would be appreciated.
No, I'm not a pessimist. At some point the world shits on everybody. Pretending it ain't shit makes you an idiot, not an optimist."

Great side by side racing and not a bad seat in the house. They used to get 40 plus late models when it was 12,000 to win, I don't really know how many will show up for the 7,500 this year.

Usually great racing. Car counts are usually really good with not many tracks racing. Really nice facilities as its at the fair grounds. Not too sure about hotels in the area, track is kind of out there. Might be able to find something around warren to stay.

Bradford or olean is the closest for "chain hotels" but smethport, lantz corners, kane all have smaller motels.

I used to stay in Smethport at the Smethport Motel or Hull's. Both are small and probably full, now. Stayed in Bradford, the last couple of years. The quickest way to Bradford from Smethport is Rt. 46 up over Rew Hill. Never saw a bad race at McKean. There will be good cars there,no doubt.Bradford or olean is the closest for "chain hotels" but smethport, lantz corners, kane all have smaller motels.

We Expect around 225-250 cars for the FALL CLASSIC
THE FOLLOWING #S is expected
ULMS - 38
UEMS - 60
RUSH - 45
BRP - 24
STOCKS - 35
MINI - 26
PURES 26
BRADFORD WOULD be your best bet for hotels. Otherwise Smethort Motel in town or possibly Port Allegany Moel.

Motels at Port Allegheny....bout 9 miles. I have attended all the Fall Classics, and have not been disappointed......except last years rain out( nobody but GOD owns the weather).

Car counts are sure to be down. Dropping from $12k down to $7,500 to win and the fact that the Outlaws will be in MI for $20k on Sat and the Lucas boys will be in KY on Friday for $10k and MI on Sat for $15k and the unsanctioned Winchester 200 down in VA for $2,500 on Fri and $8k on Sat will be factors for sure. Kinda sucks, but MCR is definitely one of the best tracks and facility in the whole northeast region. I'm sure the stands will still be packed and hopefully the late model pit area too!
