As was mentioned previously, 9/28 has been the rain date since the beginning of the season. So the statement "amp's date was scheduled before hummingbird" is incorrect. It's a shame the two shows wind up being the same night but unfortunately the weather is to blame. As for saying "hummingbird didn't want to work with amp on conflicting dates", were there discussions that I'm not aware of?

Not sure but from what I was told Jeff Taylor went to Hummingbird at the beginning of the year to talk about working together and was escorted off the property!

There is no truth to that at all. He definitely was never "escorted off the property" and never talked to anyone from Hummingbird at all, either at the track or otherwise, like the rumors have said.

Hummingbird was established on Saturdays and AMP opened up against them, just a few miles down the road. Hummingbird doesn't owe AMP any respect with their dates as AMP ran against them all year.

And Huimmingbird sat idle for many years and opened up against this track when it was an established Saturday track.

Just to throw my two cents in too. First off, and I may be wrong but I feel the late models that are going to run the special at AMP are probably a different set of cars that would run the bird anyhow. I feel there could be an effect but most likely it will only be a couple of cars.
secondly, I feel like the only people upset about AMP going against the Bird on here are mostly people who go to AMP.
Irregardless. I really believe both tracks are going to have decent fields of cars because the cars they are going to pull are different.

Saying that, the undercard may be a different story.

That is my take on this whole thing, I think the majority of super lates will go to AMP with a few steelblocks mixed in. At Hummingbird you will have their regulars steelblocks with some super lates mixed in. Both tracks will have decent car counts with marion center not running so its no big deal. I wish both tracks success Sat night with their specials because after all its for a good cause!! Let the racing begin.. ;)

It will be nice to see the "northern tier" cars from McKean raceway area that used to run the Gambler"s specials years ago.

Has anyone every asked Louie why he wouldn't want to work with another track. Give you a little hint. He got burnt years ago when DORA was running, and doesn't want to go through that again. Not saying that it would ever happen again, but why take the chance. I would also like to know the reliable source who said Jeff went to Hummingbird to talk to someone.

Lets just drop the BS. Everyone just get out and support the two people who are being memorialized tomorrow. Two great fans and supporters of racing. Good luck to all, and remember why we will all be at each facility.

Hidden Valley was built and ran up against Marion Center. And wasn't Marion Center and already established Saturday night track?

hidden valley was built and opened mid summer of 1992 running saturday nights against marion center drivers such as ron greathouse and ron winslow moved to hv because of a closer tow to race the following year1993 hv started to run a full season and so did mc both tracks had good car counts and great racing as far as the post about jeff taylor and the bird i spoke with jeff two nights ago and he told me he went to the bird to talk about working with the bird and was escorted from the grounds as far as car counts for tomorrow i hope that both tracks have good car counts and great racing as far as payouts they are simular except i choose to raise money to add to the payout as this is my choice with out the added money the payouts aren`t to far apart let the drivers make the decision where they choose to race tomorrow either way im sure the fans at both tracks will get thier moneys worth and see some awsome racing im sure that mick and stephanie will be looking down on all of us smiling and enjoying what they see lets keep them both in mind tomorrow and keep thier memories alive good luck to all the drivers and crews tomorrow at the bird and amp grt0404 greg eckl

Thats my dilemma also that is why i would rather they dont collide on the same day so a person can be part of both events, but you say something and the whining begins.
