Pro 4 Open Racing at PPMS 9/28 & 10/5!

Miley Motor Sports has been asked to allow more types of cars for four cylinder racing at PPMS in the future. The last 2 events of the season PPMS welcomes all 4 cylinders to race at PPMS under a legal at your home track legal at PPMS basis in their own division, the PPMS Pro 4's!

The Young Gun 4 cylinders will run their regular show under PPMS rules. The Young Gun 4 cylinders at these shows will be invited to join the open cars if they wish. The YG feature will be 1st in the rotation, then they may join the open 4's later. Laps in these features will be based on car count. The Pro 4 division will have a purse of $50 to win and $25 to start for this test to see how higher HP cars perform at PPMS. Should 10 or more cars show up it will be $100 to win, $50 for second, and $25 to start. Both divisions will receive trophies and will be eligible for occasional contingency awards.

Pro 4 Rules will focus on car safety, belts, cage, helmet, fuel cell & fire suit. It is the responsibility of all drivers to bring their car to the tech area for a safety inspection prior to racing. The PPMS PRO 4 will be a no contact division during these trial events. Decisions of the race director are final, no appeals, any contact & all cars involved are subject to be sent to the pits, regardless of perceived fault! The goal in these divisions is to learn car control, don't run into other cars! Drivers must be age 13 or older to compete in the Pro 4 division, drivers under 18 must be granted permission by Speedway officials to compete. YG drivers may RUN BOTH as long as the car is legal for YG competition

The goal is to see how the newer type cars compete with the existing cars. If there is enough interest, the YG 4 can stay as is and a Pro 4 division could be developed as an option for drivers of any age to join entry level racing with newer type 4 cylinder cars which seem much easier to find.

So,callin all 4's to take a few laps around the Monster and see what happens!

Young Gun & hobby stock driver admission is always $15...every event all year long...same at the next 2. Pro status, getting paid, gets you full price status! Hope some of the MDS guys do give it a whirl. Just a little test to see interest and what happens. Don't forget we have the Sportsman FallOver 20, $700 to win coming Oct 5! Ed Laboon 20 open rules SEPT 28 and OCT 5! Final race of the PPMS SPORTSMAN SHOWDOWN SERIES. Thanks to all who have participated in this series so far this year. Matt

Walt

Maybe the circuit your watching. Most of the cars I see race in that class the drivers take pride in the way their car looks. You have a occasional one that looks all beat to hell. But most of them look pretty good.

Yes, I thought the #47 was Pat Weldon's son. Saw the car last year and felt it was much better looking than most Mini-stocks I have seen. The Weldon's seem to take a lot of pride in the cars they put on the track!! Walt
