I don't remember about the stampede, you may be right. I know WRG tried to help get more area mods to Charlotte last year by way of a 2 race weekend mini series at Lernerville and Sharon. If you competed in both it counted the same as attending a SDS race. A move designed to save the area drivers the expense of travelling 5 -12 hours to the SDS tour races. I think only Mike Turner ended up coming down. WRG decided not to attempt it this year due to the poor turnout.

Maybe that's what I was thinking of. The older I get, the shakier the memory gets.

I think either 1 or both Kings will be trying to make the show at Syracuse, or at least doing the satellite shows at SDW and seeing how it goes. Of course since my memory sucks these days, I don't remember where I read it.

Addicted to Dirt, no therapy or rehab for me please, I'll just learn to live with it. http://thedirtnetwork.blogspot.com/ The DIRT Network

Rex Jr is going to the mile, at least last I heard.

Yeah, I guess that's the plan. Jamie over at DTD has him listed as confirmed to be going to SDW.

I also beleive they lifted the restriction that you had to run an SDS race to run the World Finals. I'm thinking they realized that lifting it isn't going to suddenly make 20 extra modifieds tow all the way to Concord, NC. I mean, 20 extra modifieds won't tow to Utica, NY for 20k to win....

The World Finals are the best races of the year. Also Ed Lynch has had some good runs at the finals,so try and be fair . The main problem with racing is the World Racing Group. Its time that the race teams unite and boycott this group, they have destroyed the World of Outlaws, you need only look at the car counts, and just look at all the top drivers who now race in other parts of the country and no longer follow the out laws. and while some will say that they provide big paydays for the racers ,the racers need to remember that its the paying public in the stands that makes it possible and without them there would be fewer tracks and less big shows. One has to wonder if it had been an infraction by a Donny Shatz crew member if he would have been banned....I think not. So lets take the small budget racer who is a legend in his area and make him a martyr. NO GROUP SHOULD HAVE THIS MUCH POWER OVER ANY RACE DRIVER OR TEAM. Lets try and remember the days of old when drivers would muscle their way around the track and settle many disagreements in the pits or right on the front stretch with the flagman. Those were the days of REAL racing. As a regular visitor to Charlotte every year its with pride to see ANY local driver make the tow and have the balls to try and compete with the best And love him or hate him I am one fan who will miss Ed Lynch Jr this year.
