way to go blake lirette nice job of reporting to tjslideways on wmp May 6, 2007 Results: Waynesfield Motorsports Park To Mike Miller From Blake Lirette: With rain and cancellations all around and gloomy skies overhead threatening, the track staff, fans and competitors moved ahead hoping for the best. What we got was exciting three wide racing throughout the evening and three fresh faces in victory lane for this year. First up for the evening were our 4-cylinder trucks and with Mike Hicks and Danny Kelly winning both heat races, two people were looking to hurry up and add their names to the feature winners list for 2007. Mark Hunnaman though would have a bird’s eye view of the green flag as he lead to field to green. Three laps into the feature with the 4F still in the lead trouble, and the yellow flag showed up for the 85Y who spun bunching the trucks back up. Shortly after the green came back out the 18N and last weeks winner the 21Z were making a bid on the winners check running first and second when on lap 9 the 5B who was in the top-five spun. After that Derrick Noffsinger took control of the race stretching his lead little by little, winning over a hard charging Jessica Nuss. The non-wing sprints were up next and this would be their first time on the new race track. The heats were won by Kyle “the kid” Conaway and 2005 track champion Dustin Trost. Feature time though was left up to just one car with Mike Miller leading all twenty laps. Four laps in the 37k did his second loop on the track but this time he could not keep the car going and the caution flag flew. With the green back in the air the 23s and the 26 were nose to tail with the 82 but neither of them was able to do anything with the other. Around the middle part of the race the 74L along with “the kid” put the top five all in a bunch with third through fifth trading spots multiple times during each lap. By the fourteenth lap the front five were hugging the bottom up until the yellow flew for the 2 car. Two laps later there was a bit of a scare when the 1j and 9n had heavy contact on the backstraight and then under caution the left front wheel of Dallas Hewitt’s car must have had enough as it took a ride into the corn field and Dallas stopped in turn one. Right away on the restart contact between the 8 and 40 could only slow Mike Miller’s arrival time in victory lane by only just a little. At the checkered flag the three cars following the 82 had just inches between them. Sprint Heat 1 Kyle Conaway 37, Cody White 26, Steve Simon 23S, Mike Miller 82, Dustin Smith 77S, Dallas Hewitt 2, Chad Levingston 74L, Dennis Ward Jr 2X Sprint Heat 2 Dustin Trost 7T, Corey Smith 66S, Mark Hery 40, Lewie Christian 8, Jon Nelson 9N, Jeremy Shambaugh 1J, Brent Smith 7 Sprint Feature Miller 82, Simon 23S, Levingston 74L, White 26, Conaway 37K, Trost 7T, Hery 40, Christian 8, Smith 7, Hewitt 2, Shambaugh 1J, Nelson 9N, Ward 2X, Smith 77S, Smith 66S Modified Feature O Conner 12, Sherman 65, Matson 55, Anderson 22T, Luchini 44, Ulrey 112, Henry 18, Smith 21S, Bowlby 36, Treon Jr 4J, Jacobs 50, Treon 21T, Post 45P, Jacobs 10B, Seitz 55S, Keeler 20K, Walkup 94Z, Philpot 20, Hoenie 55H, Duty 23D, Christian 8 Be sure to check out our schedule and see that May 18-19 we will be having our the 1st Annual Truck-Off, June 9th the NRA Invaders, and on Tuesday June 26 the third leg of Ohio Speedweek for the All Star Circuit of Champions. The stock cars did not race that is why there is nothing in there about them. Once I can get away from work long enough I will also get the drivers sponsors in there. I simply have too much going on right now and that has to be the sacrifice. I am going to work as hard as I can for all of the drivers and teams. This is something that I knew would be tough and I went after this because of the potential I see in the track. We need some time to round up some sponsors, everyone just got started so late that we had to work on the most important things first and everything will have to wait until those things get done. That comment is directed at myself and no one else, so I should have said myself. I am a sprint car guy when I attend a track and I will never deny that, but when it comes to reporting what happens at the track I will never play favorites. We need every one of you guys to show up and we all thank you for choosing Waynesfield Motorsports Park. Blake D. Lirette

and I'm not talking about RADIOS!!!! - it's very important to keep the racers informed of what's going on. Please, try! The confidential stuff is OK, but... we need to know what's going on.

blake your doing a good job i wasnt there. but i like to get on the web and find out what happened. you have to start some where. its funny you did mention the stocks on here last week (racestuds). to see that you finally was able to get on tjslideways is a good way to get it out about wmp. reporting is not a easy job. i went to school with the guy that did do it for limaland , and he said it was no easy job. ask skinny kenny about doing it last year for wmp. maybe some didnt get mentioned because of the first week of racing. so be it. dr speedy maybe blake just found out how to do it. and i think they have to have some kind of word from tjslideways first before you are allowed to report to the site. he reported for the week of 5/05/07. its all new management and you have to make a start some where. and this is just as good of time as any to start.

I have been writing for a couple of different teams for two years now and I have found that has helped me very little. I have had to watch one car during one feature. Now I have twenty cars over three or more features so I am still learning. Like I said I am here to help you guys out as much as I can. As a fan, I have never stopped being one, I think the racing at Waynesfield is the best out there. I wouldn't have come to work here if I didn't think that would have happened with the work Andy told me he was going to do. As far as information I will tell you guys everything that you need to know. Andy and the rest of us are finding out what the problems with the radios were. I have spoke with two series promoters from New York and they were tested yesterday, this WILL be fixed.

blake i listened in last week at eldora with the usac show, and as bad as the track was it saved a lot more cars from getting torn up with the radios. some are proably mad because they had to shell out the money for them. but from what drivers i know that have used them they do come in handy. i do believe that some class,s had them last year at eldora, so they have had a little more time to work things out with them. lets just hope all tracks work on the same channel so it will stop the chance of a driver forgetting to change from one channel to another when going from one track to another. you dont really have to post a thing on here or explain your self on here. you are proably just doing it to get the word out . your proably main job of reporting now is the wmp web site and tjslideways. but it is nice that you do post things on here . thanks for doing so.

You better enjoy the thanx you get now Blake. You're doing a fine job. It's not nearly as easy as people think. What I always hated is the people who never come to the races but always want to know what happened right away. People seem to forget that getting this news release out might need to wait until you can find the time to do it. You can bet that every Sunday somebody is on their computer at 7:00am wondering why you haven't posted the results yet. As soon as you spell a name wrong some one will complain even thou they filled out the info card in a sloppy manner. Please keep up the good work because it is good for the track and especially the racers. As always please let me know if there is anyway that I can help.
